Job Description

  • Permanent - Full-time position

Reporting directly to the Audit Manager – Stores & Hotels, your primary objective is to support the execution of the Store & Hotel Audit Plan.

You will bring a systematic, disciplined approach to evaluating and testing internal controls, risk management, and governance processes. By leading assurance engagements, analyzing operational data, and coaching team members, you will help protect and improve business operations across our stores and hotels.

Here is a taster of what you can expect in this role:

  • Lead and execute store and hotel audits, assessing key operational control risks and identifying areas for improvement.
  • Interpret complex operational data to uncover valuable business insights and determine the root causes of control breakdowns.
  • Write clear, impactful audit reports outlining key risks for individual audits as well as quarterly executive reporting.
  • Perform timely follow-ups on audit observations to ensure management's agreed action plans are effectively implemented.
  • Recommend and support continuous improvements to Internal Audit’s own processes, methodologies, and tools.
  • Act as a brand ambassador for Internal Audit, building strong collaborative relationships across all levels of management.
  • Stay updated on broader business initiatives, share knowledge, and actively contribute to a positive team culture.

Qualifications

Now let’s talk about you: 

  • Minimum of 3 years in retail or hospitality management, or an operational support role.
  • Ability and willingness to travel intra- and interstate for at least one week per month.
  • Demonstrated ability to interpret data, evaluate risk against key controls, and perform thorough root cause analysis.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with a proven ability to engage, influence, and build trust with stakeholders.
  • Self-motivated, highly detail-oriented, naturally curious, and capable of delivering high-quality outcomes under tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong understanding of operational processes and how they interconnect across a commercial business.

Desirable Criteria

  • A Bachelor’s degree in a business-related discipline and/or experience within a Big 4 accounting firm.
  • A strong desire to learn and deepen your understanding of internal audit methodologies.
