Care to Join the Team?
We are looking for an experienced Oncology Billing Specialist to join our supportive team in a permanent, full‑time, remote role, contributing to the delivery of Oncology services across multiple practices.

In this role, you’ll work closely with site‑based Patient Services teams to help deliver high‑quality, patient‑centred care. While the position is non‑patient‑facing, your work plays a key role in ensuring billing processes run smoothly and accurately for patients and clinicians alike.

You’ll be responsible for managing day‑to‑day billing activities, including invoicing, payment processing, setting up payment plans, and supporting debt collection processes. The role provides network‑wide billing support across Radiation Oncology, Medical Oncology, and Theranostics, offering variety and exposure to multiple specialty areas — all while working remotely!

More Specifically, You Will:

  • Prepare and send patient invoices in line with scheduled billing cycles

  • Ensure patient accounts are accurate and include all charges, payments, and adjustments

  • Create sundry invoices, such as medical reporting fees

  • Work with clinical and administrative teams to identify and correct billing errors

  • Process Medicare, DVA, private health fund, and other third‑party claims within required timeframes

  • Complete monthly State Health Billing and PPP invoicing, ensuring accuracy and compliance with contract requirements

  • Perform bank reconciliations and receipt direct patient payments

  • Work closely with the Shared Services Finance team and Patient Services staff to resolve reconciliation issues and improve processes

  • Complete private health fund eligibility checks for Medical Oncology and Haematology services

  • Conduct eligibility checks online or by phone as required

  • Monitor and manage debtor accounts in line with Debtors Management policies

  • Perform end‑to‑end accounts receivable duties, including payments, adjustments, refunds, write‑offs, and approved fee changes

  • Maintain follow‑up and reminder systems, including overdue notices and payment plans

  • Liaise with external debt collection agencies regarding outstanding accounts

  • Follow all organisational policies, procedures, and documented work instructions

We’re Interested in Hearing from People Who:

  • A Diploma of Medical Administration or equivalent experience in a medical billing or similar healthcare administration role

  • A strong understanding of delivering high‑quality customer service within a healthcare setting

  • Proven medical accounts processing experience, including Medicare, DVA, and private health funds

  • Confidence using clinical administration systems and Microsoft Office, with strong Excel skills

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective relationships with both internal teams and external stakeholders

  • Strong time‑management skills, with the ability to prioritise and manage multiple tasks in a remote environment

  • Demonstrated ability to work independently while also contributing effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team

Benefits of joining our team:

  • A supportive and collaborative team with a strong, connected remote culture

  • Remote working arrangement, offering flexibility and work–life balance

  • Exposure to a broad range of medical billing functions, including private health funds, Medicare, and specialist billing

  • Supportive leadership focused on ongoing training, compliance, and professional development

  • Opportunities for internal career development and progression

  • Free, confidential support for you and your family, including wellbeing, financial and nutritional coaching, legal advice, and counselling

  • Access to a wide range of employee benefits, including Fitness Passport, the Wellbeing Gateway app, BUPA Rewards, and discounted Qantas Club membership
