A Snapshot 

As BIM Manager, based in our HQ in Sydney, you will report to the Director, Product Management and work closely with various teams and leadership across the Asia Pacific region, making your mark in a number of ways: 

  • Growing and expanding AirTrunk’s BIM strategy: strategy definition and continuous update, improving and developing the tools and methodologies for digitalisation of the development process, with a goal of using BIM as a tool to masterplan, design, construct and operate data centre campuses in a flexible and scalable manner. AirTrunk’s strategy includes the use of BIM for design, cost, carbon accounting, scheduling, asset management. 
  • Technology leadership: becoming AirTrunk’s subject matter expert on BIM, will initiate, manage and lead the implementation of the BIM methodologies and strategy across every development. You will deal with internal and internal stakeholders, ensuring consistency of the data sets and helping to integrate the needs of the different stakeholders. You will also be in charge of adapting the methodologies to the new technologies available, such as the use of AI and ML, into the systematisation of the processes and the extraction of data for different uses. 

 Your Day to Day  

  • Managing the BIM Strategy: providing the vision towards the use of BIM across the company and ensuring that the strategy is continuously updated with new technologies or solutions.  
  • Develop and implement BIM standards and workflows to ensure consistency and efficiency across our business. 
  • Leading the definition and implementation of the BIM methodologies across the design, construction and operation phases of the data centre development. 
  • Maintaining the BIM databases for existing and new campuses, ensuring consistency and accuracy of data and working closely with the project and operations teams. 
  • Systematise the use of BIM beyond design (3D) to scheduling (4D), costing (5D), carbon accounting (6D) and asset management (7D) and facilitate the integration of data from the BIM models into different business needs. 
  • Envisioning the future of the use of BIM for the data centres of the future and the potential automatisation of tasks and processes. 
  • Managing the training, coordination and communication with internal and external stakeholders, including customers, partners, vendors, consultants, contractors, regulators and media. Including the training of internal and external teams on BIM standards and technical requirements 
  • Driving continuous improvement and innovation in the BIM practice, by applying best practices, lessons learned and feedback from stakeholders. 
  • Representing AirTrunk at industry events and forums and promoting BIM as a thought leader and a differentiator in the data centre market. 


Requirements  

  • A bachelor’s degree or higher in engineering, architecture, data science or a related field. 
  • At least 6 years of relevant experience in building BIM strategies and implementing BIM across building or infrastructure practices. 
  • A proven track record of understanding the implementation of 4D, 5D, 6D and 7D in building or infrastructure organisations. 
  • Proficiency in BIM software such as Revit, Navisworks, AutoCAD and  Revitzto. 
  • A strong understanding of the building and/or infrastructure development processes, particularly the design and construction stages. 
  • Excellent communication, presentation, negotiation and influencing skills, with the ability to communicate complex technical concepts to diverse audiences. 
  • A high degree of autonomy, initiative and ownership, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
