Responsible for leading the local IT function and team as the primary technology partner for Twinings Australia, ensuring reliable IT operations, supporting business growth and sustainability through technology, and driving key projects, business analysis, and problem resolution. The role requires strong communication, relationship building, people leadership, and stakeholder management across the Australian senior leadership team, local IT team, global BizTX teams, and the APAC Transformation Director to ensure Australia’s technology requirements are clearly understood, prioritised, and delivered in line with regional and global transformation priorities.
Key Responsibilities
Business Partnership & Technology Leadership
- Serve as the primary IT contact and trusted technology partner for the Australian team
- Understand Australian business priorities and translate them into clear technology requirements, solution options, and delivery prioritiesIdentify opportunities to improve efficiency, productivity, compliance, and customer experience through technology
- Build strong relationships with Australian business stakeholders and senior leadership, global BizTX teams, and regional transformation partners to align local needs with global priorities
- Communicate clearly and confidently with senior leaders, translating technical concepts into practical business implications, risks, and decisions.
IT Operations & Service Delivery
- Own day-to-day IT operations
- Ensure availability and performance of business applications, and end-user services
- Manage incidents, escalations, root-cause analysis, and service improvements
- Coordinate with global BizTX teams, vendors, outsourced support teams, and the APAC Transformation Director to ensure local service needs and priorities are effectively managed.
Hands-on Solution Delivery
- Personally perform business analysis and requirement gathering, ensuring Australia’s technology needs are clearly captured, challenged, prioritised, and communicated
- Design and implement local technology solutions
- Support business Applications, reporting, integrations, data analytics, and other business systems
- Develop prototypes, dashboards, reports, and automation solutions where required
- Troubleshoot complex business and system issues directly.
Project & Transformation Management
- Lead end-to-end delivery of local IT and digital transformation projects, coordinating with the APAC Transformation Director where regional alignment, governance, or delivery support is required
- Define scope, budget, timeline, risks and success measures
- Drive project execution and benefit realisation
- Coordinate business testing, training, and change management activities.
Budget & Vendor Management
- Develop and manage annual local IT budget
- Evaluate and negotiate with technology vendors
- Ensure cost-effective procurement and utilization of IT resources
- Monitor project and operational spending.
Governance, Security & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with corporate IT policies and security standards
- Manage technology risks and business continuity planning
- Support audits and regulatory requirements.
People Leadership
- Lead and manage the local IT team and external partners, setting clear priorities, expectations, and ways of working
- Coach, support, and develop team members to build technical capability, business partnering skills, and accountability
- Provide day-to-day leadership, performance guidance, and prioritisation support to ensure the team delivers reliable service and business-focused outcomes
- Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement across the local IT function
- Lead by example and remain actively involved in detailed execution when required.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
- Strong communication, stakeholder management, relationship-building, and people leadership skills
- Demonstrated experience leading, coaching, and developing an IT or technology team, including managing priorities, performance, and service delivery outcomes
- Bachelor’s degree in computer engineering, Computer science, or related fields
- 8–12+ years of IT experience
- Strong background in ERP, Data & Analytics including PowerBI, System Integration, and Project Management
- Strong technical skills in System Integrations, Database Management, Data Warehouse and Data Analytics, mainly Microsoft SQL
- Capable of operating at both strategic and operational levels, with a willingness to work on detailed tasks when required
- Ability to engage directly with users to diagnose detailed business issues, gather requirements, and shape practical technology solutions
- Willingness to occasionally work outside standard Australian business hours where required to support regional and global collaboration
Desirable
- Experience working in a multi-country, regional, or global technology environment
- Exposure to SAP or major ERP transformation programs
- Experience with Power Platform, automation, or low-code tools
- Experience supporting business change management, adoption, and training for technology solutions
