Profile Requirements:
- Minimum 5+ years’ experience in a senior bookkeeping role within a bookkeeping, accountancy, or tax firm
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, tax compliance, and statutory reporting requirements
- Fluency in Spanish and English, with the ability to communicate confidently with clients and colleagues
- High proficiency in accounting software (e.g. Xero, QuickBooks, MYOB, or similar) and Excel
- Proven ability to manage multiple clients, deadlines, and priorities independently
- Excellent attention to detail with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Experience reviewing work and supporting the development of junior team members
Core responsibilities:
- Manage a portfolio of clients, delivering end-to-end bookkeeping services across multiple industries
- Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports with a high level of accuracy
- Oversee accounts payable and receivable, bank reconciliations, payroll, and general ledger maintenance
- Liaise directly with Spanish- and English-speaking clients, providing clear financial explanations and advice
- Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards, tax regulations, and firm procedures
- Assist accountants and tax advisors with year-end accounts, BAS/VAT, and tax preparation
- Review and mentor junior bookkeeping staff, providing technical guidance and quality control
- Identify process improvements and support the implementation of efficient bookkeeping systems and software
