About the Role (your why)

As a Business Analyst, you will act as a key link between end users, stakeholders and technical teams to ensure solutions meet business and user requirements. You’ll work collaboratively across disciplines to gather and analyse requirements, improve business processes, and support the successful delivery of system enhancements and initiatives.

This role will see you contributing to analysis, reporting, process improvement, testing coordination and user support activities while helping drive continuous improvement across analytical practices and delivery outcomes.

Our offices are based in Australia. We like to bring people together in person when we can, but we are mindful of the benefits of working from home for work/ life balance. We therefore leave it to you and the team you join to figure out what works best!

What you’ll do

At the moment, as Business Analyst you will be focused on:

  • Meeting with user groups and stakeholders to gather, analyse and document business requirements.
  • Developing functional specifications, user stories and other artefacts that clearly define desired outcomes.
  • Analysing workflows, systems and business processes to identify improvement opportunities and provide recommendations.
  • Presenting findings, insights and recommendations to stakeholders and business teams.
  • Coordinating testing activities to ensure system enhancements are functional, efficient and user friendly.
  • Ensuring documentation and knowledge artefacts are accurately maintained and completed.
  • Providing training and support to users following implementation activities.
  • Collaborating with colleagues across teams and disciplines to achieve shared goals.
  • Supporting continuous improvement initiatives across analytical processes and practices.

We are a pretty agile company, and are keen to respond to customer, technology and internal stakeholders’ changing requirements and this can mean we evolve in our roles to meet those needs.

What you’ll bring

Required experience:

  • 3+ years’ experience in a relevant Business Analyst or similar role.
  • Strong understanding of the systems/software development lifecycle.
  • Experience gathering, analysing and documenting business and user requirements.
  • Proven analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently on moderately complex assignments and make informed recommendations.
  • Experience working with stakeholders across business and technical teams.
  • Sound technical aptitude with the ability to quickly learn new systems and technologies.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Accounting, IT, Science, Engineering, Economics or a related discipline.

Nice to have:

  • Previous Business Analyst experience within technology-focused environments.
  • Experience with analysis and automation languages, practices and toolsets.
  • Knowledge of programming, system design, IT infrastructure and database concepts.
  • Understanding of business process re-engineering practices.
  • Appreciation of both IT and business strategy.
