We are one connected team in pursuit of one inspiring purpose: to unite people and technology to power better experiences. You’ll be encouraged to bring your ideas forward, make a difference through your work and grow your career while enjoying room for fun, friendships and flexibility in your daily life.

The Role:

Working in a 12 month max term contract, as a Business Analyst at AP+, you’ll help turn business needs into practical, fit-for-purpose solutions across Australia’s payments ecosystem. You’ll assess business situations, understand stakeholder needs from end to end, and analyse how proposed changes affect current systems, processes, data and customers.

Working with teams across AP+ and directly with external enterprise customers and vendors, you’ll facilitate discovery, define and manage requirements, and support initiatives from early assessment through solution design, testing, implementation and operational transition. Your analysis will help teams make informed decisions, manage risks and deliver outcomes that work for the business and its stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Gather requirements through the entire delivery and operational lifecycle, including defining and managing scope, requirements elicitation, analysis and documentation, and associated prioritisation activities.
  • Model business processes and identify opportunities for process improvements.
  • Conduct data modelling and mapping to support detailed analysis and enable effective solution design.
  • Identify risks, issues, and benefits of existing and proposed solutions and outline business impacts.
  • Validate systems, products, platforms and services against requirements, experience goals, metrics, and targets.
  • Identify, analyse and engage a range of stakeholders to influence their decisions and actions for mutual benefit, including resolving problems and issues, managing resolutions, and implementing stakeholder engagement and communications plans.
  • Simplify information and decipher technical jargon so it is easily understood by nontechnical audiences.
  • Support the testing and implementation of solutions.
  • Support business transitions and help establish change and improvements.
  • Create and maintain documentation regarding various projects, processes, and operations

Required experience to be successful in the role

You’ll bring:

  • A bachelor degree or equivalent, and 3–5 years’ experience working as a Business Analyst.
  • Business analysis experience across the delivery lifecycle, including requirements elicitation, analysis, documentation, prioritisation and traceability.
  • Knowledge of payments technology, IT systems and the financial services industry, with the ability to apply that knowledge when assessing business needs and solution options.
  • Experience working directly with external enterprise customers and vendors, building effective relationships and progressing complex requirements or issues.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to facilitate discussions, influence stakeholders and make technical information clear to non-technical audiences.
  • Experience modelling business processes and data, identifying improvement opportunities, and using analysis to support sound business decisions.
  • Experience supporting solution validation, user acceptance testing and implementation, including developing or reviewing test scenarios against acceptance criteria.
  • Confidence identifying risks, issues and dependencies, assessing their business impact and working with stakeholders to develop practical responses.
  • Familiarity with Agile and Waterfall delivery practices and tools such as Jira; a collaborative, adaptable approach when working through ambiguity and changing priorities.
