Position:  Business Analyst

Datacom Location:  Anywhere in Australia (preference for Melbourne-based)

About The Role

The Business Analyst acts as a pivot or intermediary between end users and the business to ensure solutions meet business/user requirements

Our offices are based in Melbourne, Sydney, Adelaide, Brisbane, Canberra and Perth. We like to bring people together in person when we can, but we are mindful of the benefits of working from home for work/life balance. We therefore leave it to you and the team you join to figure out what works best!

What You’ll Do   

  • Collect and compile metrics and data creating reporting and completing analysis.
  • Meet with user groups and other stakeholders to gather and analyse requirements.
  • Analyse data, workflows, or metrics to make recommendations of potential improvement.
  • Present findings and recommendations to business as required.
  • Develop artefacts such as functional specifications and user stories that define and document the desired outcome focusing on the what and the why.
  • Coordinate testing to ensure the overall efficiency, functionality and user friendliness of system enhancement/development.
  • Ensure knowledge artefacts are appropriately completed.
  • Assist and collaborate with colleagues across disciplines to achieve shared goals.
  • Facilitate Scrum ceremonies (Daily Stand-ups, Sprint Planning, Reviews, and Retrospectives)

What You’ll Bring

  • 3+ years’ experience in business analysis.
  • Proven experience with analysis and automation languages, practices and toolsets.
  • Understanding of all aspects of the systems/software development lifecycle.
  • Technical knowledge of programming, system design, IT infrastructure and database concepts.
  • An appreciation of both IT and business strategy.
  • Developing knowledge of business process re-engineering.
  • Ability to assimilate business context and priorities effectively so as to build subject matter expertise.
  • Assures adherence to budgets, schedules, work plans, and performance requirements.
  • Ability to interact with a variety of stakeholders and team members within own area of expertise.
  • Sound technical ability, with the skills to pick up proficiency in new systems and technology quickly.
  • Strong understanding of Scrum, Kanban, and Agile frameworks.
