About the Role 

A Business Analyst at SYD plays a critical role in bridging the gap between business needs and technology solutions. This role is responsible for identifying, analysing and translating business requirements into functional and non-functional specifications to support the design and delivery of technology solutions. Working closely with stakeholders across the airport, the Business Analyst ensures that technology solutions are aligned with strategic objectives, enhance operational efficiency and deliver measurable value.

Key responsibilities will include

• Engaging and maintaining strong, ongoing communication with all stakeholders to align on project goals, priorities and outcomes
• Leading the gathering, analysis and validation of business requirements, identifying challenges and opportunities for improvement
• Organising and facilitating workshops and meetings to gather requirements
• Evaluating and recommending process improvements, utilising process modelling techniques where appropriate
• Tracking and measuring business value throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring alignment with expected benefits
• Developing and championing business analysis standards, tools and methodologies to drive consistency, quality and best practice across the organisation

About you

• Degree in Business, Information Technology, or a related degree
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in business and process analysis within a technology environment
• Strong judgement and professionalism, with the ability to manage multiple competing priorities
• Experience with change management highly regarded
• Exposure to OT systems or technologies such as SCADA, CCTV, access control, and passenger flow analytics.
• Proven ability to break down complex problems, identify patters and derive insights
• Strong written and verbal communication with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
• Strong skills in eliciting, documenting and validating business requirements
• Adaptable and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
