We are currently seeking an experienced and motivated Business Centre Administrator to join our team in Mount Isa, QLD. In this position, you will provide high-quality administrative support to the branch and play a key role in ensuring the smooth day-to-day operation of the business centre.

This a permanent, Monday to Friday position that offers job stability, a supportive team environment and the opportunity to contribute to a successful and growing business.

What you’ll be doing:

As a Business Centre Administrator at Hastings Deering, you will:

  • Provide professional front-of-house support – answer and direct internal and external enquiries promptly, courteously, and professionally, including reception coverage as required.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service – welcome and assist visitors while providing a positive experience for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Manage workforce administration – coordinate Time and Attendance processes and maintain accurate records across business systems, including Microsoft AX.
  • Maintain workplace information – update organisational charts, evacuation maps, noticeboards, and other business communications to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Support financial administration – assist the Accounts function with administrative, reporting, and finance-related activities as required.
  • Coordinate travel and events – arrange travel bookings and provide administrative support for branch meetings, training sessions, and events.
  • Manage purchasing processes – raise and process purchase orders in accordance with company policies and procedures.
  • Provide general administrative support – prepare documentation and perform tasks such as photocopying, scanning, laminating, and document binding.
  • Support Parts and Service operations – undertake administrative duties for the Parts and Service departments as directed by the Operations Manager.
  • Monitor performance and reporting – track task progress, report outcomes, and contribute to achieving quality, timeliness, and business performance objectives.

What you’ll need:

A successful teammate will have experience in:  

  • Demonstrate administrative experience – bring a minimum of two years’ experience in an administrative or office support role, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
  • Apply relevant qualifications – hold qualifications in Business Administration, Office Administration, or a related discipline.
  • Leverage industry knowledge – utilise previous experience within the mining, heavy equipment, construction, or related industries to support business operations.
  • Utilise strong computer skills – confidently work with Microsoft Office applications, business systems, and databases to maintain accuracy and efficiency.
  • Build trusted stakeholder relationships – engage professionally with customers and stakeholders while maintaining a high level of confidentiality, professionalism, and confidence.
