Lead and facilitate workshops with banking and financial clients, defining solutions, managing engagement, and guiding stakeholders through complex problems while documenting product specifications.
Key duties and responsibilities
Primary:
- Engage directly with banking and financial services (BFS) clients to lead and facilitate workshops, define solution scope, and gather detailed business and functional requirements
- Collaborate with stakeholders across business, technology, and operations to define end-to-end payment journeys and pricing logic for banking and financial products
- Actively manage customer engagement and expectations throughout the project lifecycle to ensure alignment on scope, priorities and deliverables
- Translates business requirements to technical requirements while balancing them between what’s technically feasible and financially and functionally reasonable
- Drive clarity in complex problem spaces and navigate ambiguity to guide stakeholders towards actionable problem statements
Secondary:
- Capture and document the banking product definition and the pricing configuration rules
- Analyse and model the payments value chain, including orchestration, clearing and settlement processes
- Support the design and implementation of system interfaces and API integrations aligned to payment schemes
- Liaise with technical teams to ensure technical design and solution configurations are aligned with business requirements
- Coach and mentor junior analysts to ensure consistency and quality of deliverables across the team
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives related to tooling, methodology and knowledge sharing
- Strong knowledge in banking and financial products, payment processing and digital banking
- Practical experience in pricing and deal management system with hands-on implementation on either legacy or next-gen platforms
- Understanding of the end-to-end journey of the implementation and fulfilment of banking products
- Ability to use exceptional communication skills to manage client expectations through workshop and feedback sessions
- Ability to summarise solution proposal including inputs, considerations, and recommendations concisely and accurately to obtain feedback and approvals
- Ability to constructively and confidently challenge client requests that fall outside of scope or viability considering technical feasibility, delivery timelines and cost implications
- Familiarity with ISO 20022 messaging standards and the application in payment platforms
- Understanding of domestic or international payment systems (e.g., NPP, BECS DE, BPAY, HVCS, and SWIFT cross-border)
- Knowledge of interchange and scheme fees
