DESCRIPTION:

The Business Development Manager plays a crucial role in accelerating business growth for Proteomic Sciences. This dynamic position offers an exciting opportunity to drive business development activities and spearhead proactive sales engagements across academia, clinical research and biopharmaceutical sector. You will be at the forefront of Thermo Fisher's PSX business, driving market penetration through strategic pre-sales activities, competitive conversions, and go-to-market strategies. In this high-impact role, you'll focus on accelerating market share growth, achieving ambitious targets, and identifying new strategic opportunities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Protect and Expand Installed Base Pull-Through
  • Lead the charge in engaging existing users to drive brand loyalty and recurring revenue growth.
  • Craft and implement innovative account-level strategies to secure long-term partnership and outperform the competition.
  • Collaborate with country teams and peers to design and execute high-impact retention and growth programs.
  • Drive Competitive Growth & Strategic Partnership
  • Work closely with applications and marketing teams to position our differentiated value proposition and drive sustainable demand in the ANZ market.
  • Market Intelligence, Enablement & Execution
  • Become the go-to expert in generating and analyzing end-user and competitor insights to inform pricing, positioning, and go-to-market strategies.
  • Empower country teams and Service Providers with cutting-edge training, compelling value messaging, and competitive tools, ensuring strong cross-functional alignment with marketing, applications, service, and business development.
  • Lead disciplined funnel, forecast, and performance management initiatives to support the delivery of ambitious regional growth targets.

How will you get here?
Education

  • Bachelor's degree required; MS or PhD in life sciences is preferred.

Experience

  • 3+ years of commercial experience in the Life Science market, with a proven track record of sales success in ANZ.
  • Deep knowledge of proteomics, and/or qPCR, NGS workflows and customer applications is preferred.
  • Demonstrated expertise in identifying and developing sales leads, managing complex sales processes, and negotiating high-value contracts in the ANZ market.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

  • Strong commercial acumen, competitive selling skills, and a passion for driving business growth in the proteomics sciences.
  • Familiarity with Salesforce and other modern sales tools.
  • Willingness to travel up to 30% within Australia
