Job Description

Are you ready to lead the charge in transforming how NSW lights up its roads and cities? We’re looking for a dynamic and results-driven Business Development Manager – Roadway & Infrastructure (NSW) to join our high-performing team. In this pivotal role, you’ll be the face of our business in the NSW market, identifying new opportunities, forging strong client partnerships, and delivering smart, sustainable lighting solutions.

You’ll play a key role in expanding our footprint across Roadway, Smart City Applications, Control Integration, and outdoor infrastructure projects. Your mission? To grow market share, exceed sales targets, and help shape the future of urban lighting.

This is more than just a sales role—it’s a chance to make a lasting impact by driving innovation, building genuine client relationships, and contributing to the success of a forward-thinking organisation.

Qualifications

  • Must have 4+ years’ experience in the Lighting industry or electrical, preferably in Infrastructure and Roadway.

  • Demonstrated ability to win complex, high-value projects and manage multiple stakeholders through the sales cycle.

  • Experience dealing with both technical and non-technical people, such as architects, engineers, contractors, councils, or developers.

  • Strong understanding of technical drawings, specifications, and proposal documentation.

  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.

  • Knowledge of CRM systems and ability to manage a structured sales pipeline.

  • A relevant tertiary qualification in Business, Engineering, or related field (preferred, but not essential).

  • Must have full working rights in Australia (no restriction)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead Market Expansion: Proactively identify and secure high-value Roadway & Infrastructure projects, driving revenue growth and market share across NSW.
  • Be the Trusted Advisor: Build influential relationships with Energy Authorities, Councils, Contractors, and End Users—positioning our solutions as the first choice for smart, sustainable lighting.
  • Own the Sales Journey: Manage your pipeline with precision using our CRM, ensuring every opportunity is tracked, nurtured, and converted.
  • Ignite New Opportunities: Drive business development through strategic outreach, networking, and innovative lead generation tactics.
  • Deliver Solutions That Matter: Craft tailored proposals that speak directly to client needs and present them with confidence to senior decision-makers.
  • Empower Partner Success: Collaborate with key contractors and channel partners to ensure seamless project delivery and long-term client satisfaction.
  • Shape Strategic Direction: Contribute to sales and marketing strategies that elevate our brand, accelerate growth, and strengthen our competitive edge.
  • Support Winning Tenders: Assist in preparing compelling tender documents and quotations that reflect our commitment to quality and innovation.

What We’re Looking For:

  • A sharp commercial mindset and a passion for closing meaningful, solution-driven deals.
  • Experience navigating complex contracts and working with Government or Utility clients.
  • A consultative selling style that builds trust across stakeholders — from specifiers to end-users.
  • Confidence to work independently, paired with a collaborative approach to team success.
  • Solid knowledge of the lighting industry, including smart city, solar, sports, and roadway applications.
  • A proactive, problem-solving attitude, strong communication skills, and a knack for building lasting relationships.
  • Curiosity for market trends, new technologies, and the future of smart, sustainable lighting.

What we offer you:

  • A highly autonomous role with the flexibility to shape your market and strategy.
  • A global business with established roots and brand presence.
  • Multi-disciplinary organisation - moving lighting hardware to smart controls
  • Competitive salary and corporate discounts
  • Ongoing training and development
  • Uncapped commission structure
