About Us

There’s something special about working for a company like Macquarie Telecom. We’re not the biggest in the industry, where you’re just a number. We’re not tiny enough that you’ve never heard of us. We’re in that sweet spot where we’re strong enough to punch above our weight. And we definitely do! Because of this, you have the opportunity to make a difference.

The Business Development Representative (BDR) is the frontline engine responsible for outbound pipeline generation, identifying, engaging, and qualifying potential leads for Macquarie Telecom Business Development Managers within the corporate and enterprise market. This strategic and insight-driven role focuses on creating high-value meetings that lead to sales opportunities within defined customer segments.

  • Generate and actively support high-value opportunities for Sales Team in defined segments.
  • Conduct outbound market research and drive event attendance and engagement
  • Proactively engage key decision-makers across targeted segments using outbound phone calls, LinkedIn, and tailored email outreach
  • Align outreach to industry events, triggers, and market trends to increase relevance and cut-through
  • Drive net-new pipeline creation by focusing on accounts within strategic segments
  • Collaborate with Marketing and Sales to refine messaging and target personas based on campaign performance
  • Own the end-to-end outbound cycle from contact strategy to Sales Qualified Lead (SQL) handover or self-close where applicable
  • Maintain accurate records of all engagement, progress, and insights within Salesforce
  • Provide weekly updates on pipeline progression, forecast accuracy, and activity volumes
  • Ensure consistent follow-up cadence and structured lead nurturing
  • Identify key business drivers, pain points, and potential buying signals
  • Share relevant intel with AEs to support sales strategy and enhance meeting context
  • Respond promptly to inbound enquiries or POC requests from prospects and customers
  • Support completion of POC documentation and facilitate a seamless handover to the appropriate Sales owner

Your ideal skills and experience

  • A tertiary qualification, ideally in a business or technology field
  • Proven experience and success in a target-driven sales environment

  • Sales marketing expertise in niche, competitive industries
  • Strong knowledge of the ICT sector
