About the role

Challenger is launching innovative retirement solutions designed to deliver more personalised and flexible outcomes for customers, including new partnerships that will expand how we bring these offerings to market.

As Business Project Manager, you’ll help to design how multiple teams collaborate, build operational processes, and establish governance frameworks that underpin long-term success.

You’ll play a key role in bringing new products and partnerships to life, shaping how they are delivered at scale and ensuring meaningful outcomes for customers.

What you’ll do
  • Manage the project lifecycle: oversee the end-to-end delivery of early-stage integration and transformation projects, from kick-off to close, ensuring alignment with scope, objectives, and business outcomes.

  • Ensure on-time and on-budget delivery: plan and prioritise work to meet deadlines and budget targets, managing resources efficiently across Challenger teams and strategic partners.

  • Program governance and risk management: establish and maintain project controls, including risk/issue registers, dependencies, governance forums, and status reporting.

  • Influence and guide senior stakeholders: engage and influence internal teams, external partners, and executives, providing clear recommendations and options to support timely, informed decision-making.

  • Enhance customer experience: maintain focus on delivering outcomes that improve customer experience, continuously assessing needs and ensuring solutions are practical and impactful.

  • Data analysis and reporting: leverage project metrics, dashboards, and reporting to track progress, highlight risks, and inform decision-making.

  • Continuous improvement: capture lessons learned and insights to strengthen project delivery capability and improve future initiatives.

In addition, you’ll bring:

  • Strong influencing and communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively across both internal and external stakeholders

  • Confidence in working with senior executives, influencing decisions and balancing competing priorities

  • The ability to navigate ambiguity and operate effectively in early-stage or evolving programmes of work

  • A calm and solutions-focused approach, maintaining momentum under pressure and across changing priorities

  • Strong experience in managing dependencies, identifying risks early and proactively mitigating them
