JOB DESCRIPTION:

Department Function/Objective:

Responsible for all of the financial affairs governance of the Capital Team. Primary objective is to plan, control, administer, interpret and report the financial performance of Capital Projects both to management at plant level and ADD Finance. 

Primary function:

•    To Prepare monthly reports on Capital Team cash flow spend
•    To prepare RCE's for Capital requests
•    To prepare plan, update and LBE schedules to agreed deadlines.
•    To provide financial support to the Capital projects Team.

Environmentai Health &Safety:

Ensure EHS Standards are met and all EHS regulations and procedures are adhered to. Foster an awareness ofEHS in the plant and promote a culture of continuous improvement. 

Reporting and Supervisory/Management Responsibility:

•    This position reports to the relevant department/area Team Leader or Manager
•    The Capital Finance manager is responsible for the Capital project financial governance for all projects.
•    High level of contact with all Project Managers and department managers.
•    High level of contact with Auditors both internal and external.
•    Need to be effective communicator.
•    Ability to deal with all personnel within plant, and ADD finance team
as required.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Preparing Update and LBE data for submission to ADD . 

  • Prepare cash flow month end journals . 

  • Prepare the inputs to monthly management report. 

  • Prepare RCE request for all capital/ expense requests . 

  • Participate at CAP A Oversight Review as required . 

Leadership Activities/Interpersonal Skills:

  • A high level of leadership is required in the implementation and enforcement of financial policies and procedures. 

  • Be part of building an effective Capital team . 

  • Provide clear direction and define priorities . 

  • High level of interpersonal skills and communication skills are required . Ability to deal with people at all levels within the plant, liaise with division finance and other plant finance personnel. 

  • Communicate with the team . 

  • Recognise and reward effort . 

  • Resolve conflict constructively . 

  • Seek feedback. 

  • Participate at weekly Operations meetings . 

  • Ensure Environmental procedures e.g., recycling, waste minimization are adhered to and improvements made where possible.
