Job Description

This role is responsible for the delivery of capital reporting under the Insurance Capital Standards (ICS) framework, ensuring the accurate and timely production, analysis, and communication of capital results to senior stakeholders and Dai-ichi Life. The position plays a key role in explaining capital movements, supporting governance and reporting requirements, and managing relationships with external auditors through the coordination and resolution of audit queries. In addition, the role drives the ongoing enhancement of ICS models and reporting processes, with a focus on strengthening model quality, controls, governance, efficiency, and overall reporting capability.

In this role you will:

  • Produce and deliver Insurance Capital Standards (ICS) results on regular basis in accordance with reporting timetables, ensuring accuracy, completeness and timeliness.
  • Perform analysis of capital movements and key drivers, providing clear and insightful commentary to senior management.
  • Prepare and present ICS reporting packs for senior stakeholders, including the Appointed Actuary
    and CFO.
  • Coordinate the delivery of ICS results and supporting analysis to Dai-ichi Life, ensuring accuracy,
    completeness, and timeliness.
  • Liaise with external auditors during periodic reviews and audits, responding to queries, provide high-
    quality supporting documentation, implement enhancements to address audit recommendations.
  • Lead and support enhancements to the ICS reporting process, models, and methodologies to
  • improve efficiency and accuracy.
  • Perform User Acceptance Testing (UAT) for model changes and / or methodology updates.
  • Strengthen governance and control frameworks across the ICS reporting process, including the development of transparent and traceable review controls.
  • Enhance the visibility and documentation of key checks, reconciliations, and review procedures to support robust risk management and auditability.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation of model changes, methodologies, assumptions, processes, and governance decisions.

Qualifications

  • FIAA qualified (or equivalent).
  • 5+ years’ post qualification experience in a life insurance (or equivalent) actuarial role.
  • Knowledge of the Australian life insurance market – products, industry structure and trends, drivers and profitability, regulatory requirements.
  • Knowledge of Prophet and spreadsheet modelling.
  • Experience in capital reporting, valuation, financial reporting, or a related actuarial or finance function.
