The opportunity
We are seeking a strategic and operationally minded professional to lead planning and governance across global Centres of Excellence (COEs) and regional teams focused on employee experience, inclusion, and talent (career & capability).
This role is pivotal in establishing and embedding governance structures, aligning enterprise wide planning and operating principles, and driving consistent communities of practice and leadership cadences in a complex, matrixed organisation. You will connect talent strategy to the broader People Strategy and ensure the right reporting and metrics—including inputs to sustainability reporting—are in place to demonstrate impact.
If you thrive in environments that demand big picture thinking and hands on execution, we’d love to hear from you.
About QBE
At QBE, we get to the heart of what matters for our customers. And we do it all with a human touch.
We’re an international insurer with more than 13,000 people working across 26 countries – which means we’re big enough for your ambitions, yet small enough for you to make a real impact. It’s an exciting time. We’re building momentum towards our vision to become the most consistent and innovative risk partner.
What if you could have a positive impact – at work and in the world? As part of the QBE team, you’ll get to spend every day working with people who are passionate, talented and kind.
Your new role
Design, implement and maintain governance frameworks within and between COEs—clarifying decision rights, accountability and ways of working.
Lead enterprise planning rhythms and leadership cadences—define purpose, participants and frequency for forums so teams connect and decide at pace.
Align stakeholders (COE leaders, regional teams, People Strategy & Governance, business leaders) on priorities, operating principles and outcomes.
Own reporting and metrics for Career & Capability and Employee Experience & Inclusion, linking talent outcomes to People Strategy and sustainability reporting.
Drive continuous improvement—simplify processes, standardise communities of practice, and unlock cross team efficiencies.
About you
You are collaborative with a strong enterprise mindset who brings governance expertise, strategic planning capability and the credibility to influence diverse stakeholder groups. You balance global consistency with regional flexibility and turn frameworks into real world ways of working that teams adopt.
Proven governance expertise designing and embedding frameworks across global, matrixed environments.
Strategic planning and operating model experience—from planning cycles and budget alignment to role clarity and decision rights.
Program/portfolio coordination—comfort managing multiple workstreams and interdependencies across COEs and regions.
Executive communication and influence—clear, concise, and outcomes focused with senior stakeholders.
Change & transformation delivery—landing new ways of working and uplifting adoption across communities of practice.
Data fluency—able to define, interpret and present people/talent metrics, connecting insights to business and sustainability outcomes.
