We provide proactive operational risk management to ensure our customers receive exceptional experiences that drive customer advocacy.

About Line 1 Risk Wealth & Private Chapter

Our Line 1 Risk Chapter collaborates closely with Wealth & Private Crews to achieve strategic goals and reach and maintain an NPS of +30. We ensure comprehensive risk management by deeply understanding the business strategy, current processes, and obligations. By identifying and managing risks effectively, we provide valuable insights and prioritise improvements, ensuring all operational risk requirements are met. Our proactive approach enables us to offer advisory support, helping to design robust processes that minimise operational risks and drive business success.

Do work that matters

As the Risk Chapter Lead for Wealth & Private, you will report to the CoE and Chapter Area Lead – Wealth & Private and Everyday Banking (EDB). You will lead, coach, and support your team, enhancing their capabilities. By deeply understanding the business, you will foster a proactive risk culture, enabling confident and safe delivery of great customer outcomes. Collaborating with peers in the W&P/EDB Centre of Excellence, you will drive excellence in risk management across a high-performing team.

As a Risk Chapter Lead, you will provide the Wealth & Private business with:

  • Strategic advice on prioritising risk mitigation investments, interventions, and improvements that align with Wealth & Private business objectives and governance initiatives, supporting the delivery of tailored wealth solutions to High Net Worth and everyday Australian customers
  • Expertise and guidance on risk, compliance, and operations management within acceptable limits, fostering a proactive risk culture across the Wealth & Private value chain
  • Insight and foresight into changes in the internal and external risk landscape that may impact the Wealth & Private business risk profile, enabling cross-disciplinary collaboration to respond swiftly to issues, near misses, and emerging risks or threats to business resilience
  • Valuable business intelligence to inform risk decisions and governance, while simplifying and innovating processes and controls across Wealth & Private operations
  • Leadership and oversight of the risk strategy aligned with the business and governance priorities, and inspire and mentor a team of risk and control professionals
  • Driving Data Quality improvements within RiskInSite to enable better decision-making

We're interested in people who have:

  • Demonstrated experience in operational risk management, with a focus on product design, delivery and oversight
  • Proven leadership and coaching skills to develop a high-performing team of risk and control professionals
  • Ability to simplify complex processes and controls, and identify balanced solutions for diverse stakeholders
  • Expert knowledge of Operational Risk frameworks and practices in a Line 1 Risk capacity
  • Strong relationship-building and influencing skills to drive effective risk outcomes and stakeholder engagement
  • Customer obsessed with commitment to continuous improvement and innovation
  • High proficiency in communication, including data analysis and reporting
