This role at TAL offers the opportunity to work closely with the Claims Insights and Analytics Manager and the Head of Portfolio Management to drive both commercial and customer-focused outcomes within the Individual Life Portfolio. The position involves leveraging life insurance knowledge, analytical capabilities, and stakeholder management skills to deliver actionable insights to the leadership team.
This analytics-focused role provides exposure to a wide array of commercial matters and offers the potential to make a tangible impact. It is particularly suited for motivated, accountable actuarial candidates who possess strong communication skills, enjoy working across diverse projects, and are eager to understand and influence the end-to-end value chain.
In This Role You Will
Establish and align annual metrics for Individual Life Claims teams to support optimal customer outcomes and operational performance.
Prepare and deliver accurate weekly and monthly reports to the Claims team and Senior Leadership Team on schedule.
Conduct independent, in-depth analyses of structured and unstructured claims data to identify key drivers of claims outcomes.
Lead and support strategic projects and in-depth actuarial analyses, applying insurance expertise, analytical skills, and stakeholder management to advance the Individual Life Strategy.
Proactively perform ad hoc analyses and initiatives, using quantitative and qualitative methods to identify the root causes of emerging claims trends.
Liaise with senior Claims leaders and present key insights on a monthly basis.
1–5 years’ experience in the Australian Life Insurance industry.
Solid actuarial and financial expertise to analyse claims drivers and enhance commercial performance.
Proficient in analytics tools and software, including Python, R, SQL, PowerBI, and Excel.
Highly detail-oriented and accountable.
Proven ability to independently deliver high-quality results across multiple projects within deadlines.
