Job DescriptionThe Claims Portfolio Manager plays a pivotal role in strengthening the integrity and performance of TAL’s claims portfolio, ensuring we continue to deliver fair, timely and trusted outcomes for our customers. By turning portfolio insights into meaningful action, this role supports better decision‑making, continuous improvement and strong governance across claims. Working at the intersection of data, policy and customer experience, the role contributes directly to TAL’s commitment to doing the right thing—building confidence in life insurance and supporting customers when they need us most.
In this role you will:
- Enhance portfolio insights by evolving claims data, controls and visualisations to clearly highlight portfolio health and risks.
- Drive timely claim outcomes by optimising tracking of claim activity, milestones and pipeline management.
- Strengthen portfolio discipline by improving controls that support claim tidiness and appropriate claim allocation.
- Improve decision quality by reviewing complex or sub‑optimal claims and providing expert strategic guidance.
- Lift claims performance through coaching, insights and targeted recommendations to leaders and teams.
- Ensure data integrity by designing and embedding mechanisms that deliver accurate, reliable claims insights.
- Bring solid claims experience, with around 3+ years in Life Insurance claims management and a strong understanding of end‑to‑end claim decision‑making.
- Use data confidently to drive better outcomes, translating insights into practical improvements in claim management and portfolio health.
- Apply strong analytical judgement, with the ability to identify risks, solve problems and improve claim strategies with attention to detail.
- Influence and support others, sharing expertise through coaching, collaboration and constructive challenge to lift overall claims performance.
- Demonstrate deep regulatory awareness, with working knowledge of the Life Insurance Code of Practice, Privacy Principles and relevant legislation.
- Lead with empathy and integrity, building trust with customers and stakeholders while delivering fair, high‑quality and compliant outcomes
