Job Description

  • Full-time, 2 Years Fixed-Term position at HEW Level 8.
  • Blacktown Clinical School with flexible working arrangements.
  • Salary: $118,969 – $132,069 per annum, plus 17% Super and Leave Loading.

Lead clinical trials governance, compliance and operations across the Faculty of Health.

The Opportunity You will provide strategic and operational leadership for the Faculty of Health’s clinical trials portfolio, supporting effective, ethical and compliant trial delivery from start-up to close-out. You will work across regulatory, contractual and institutional requirements to support trials that are delivered within agreed timelines, budgets and governance standards.

You will lead the development and continuous improvement of clinical trial governance frameworks, systems and processes. This includes providing specialist advice to senior stakeholders, investigators and external partners on trial operations, compliance, risk, resourcing, financial management and reporting.

You will also oversee ethics, governance and regulatory submissions, clinical trial budgets, financial tracking, invoicing, forecasting and reporting. Working with internal and external partners, you will support contract processes, stakeholder engagement, digital technologies and AI-enabled tools that improve trial operations, data management and performance monitoring.

  • Clinical trials are delivered from start-up to close-out within agreed timelines, budgets and regulatory requirements.
  • Governance frameworks, procedures and systems support compliant, efficient and high-quality trial operations.
  • Senior stakeholders, investigators and external partners receive clear advice on operations, compliance, risk and financial management.
  • Ethics, governance and regulatory requirements are managed accurately, including applications, submissions, amendments and reporting.
  • Clinical trial staff and resources are coordinated effectively to support workload planning, capability and performance.

About You

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in health, science, nursing, business administration, research management or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.
  • Extensive experience in clinical trials operations or management within a university, health, industry, CRO or research environment.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of clinical trial governance and regulatory requirements, including ICH-GCP, NHMRC, TGA, ethics, privacy and institutional compliance.
  • Proven experience managing complex clinical trial operations, including budgets, reporting, timelines, governance submissions, contract processes and stakeholder expectations.
  • Strong leadership, stakeholder engagement and communication skills, with the ability to provide high-level advice to senior leaders, investigators and external partners.
