About the role

As a Public Sector Cloud and AI Platforms (CAIP) Sales Manager, you will lead and mentor high-performing teams of Azure Cloud & AI specialists. You’ll engage senior decision-makers across government, education, and healthcare to drive strategic cloud and AI initiatives, deepen customer relationships, and accelerate high-impact sales opportunities. 

This role requires strong sales leadership, business acumen, and technical depth across Azure infrastructure, data, AI, and app innovation. You will shape territory strategy, identify growth opportunities, and align sales execution to customer priorities using market insights and predictive analytics. 

What you bring

  • People leadership: Build, coach, and grow high-performing teams; drive accountability and performance. 

  • Enterprise & Public Sector sales experience: Proven success leading teams in complex customer environments. 

  • Executive engagement: Trusted advisor to C-suite and senior stakeholders; confident handling high-stakes discussions. 

  • Cross-organisational orchestration: Align resources across internal teams and partners to drive unified sales outcomes. 

  • Cloud & AI fluency: Strong understanding of AI, data, infrastructure, and application innovation trends. 

  • Partner ecosystem leadership: Activate co-sell strategies with SIs, ISVs, and partners. 

  • Market insight: Interpret policy, regulatory, and competitive signals to inform growth strategy. 

  • Pipeline discipline: Drive forecasting accuracy, pipeline hygiene, and data-led prioritisation. 

  • Security mindset: Embed security, compliance, and trust into all customer engagements. 


Responsibilities

Sales Strategy 

  • Define territory strategy, identify whitespace, and align sales to customer priorities 

  • Lead development of AI- and cloud-based transformation solutions for customers 

  • Act as a trusted advisor to senior stakeholders on strategic initiatives 

Customer Engagement 

  • Coach teams to qualify, progress, and close opportunities 

  • Orchestrate cross-team collaboration across the sales lifecycle 

  • Strengthen customer and partner relationships to accelerate outcomes 

Sales & Pipeline Management 

  • Drive accurate forecasting and pipeline health across teams 

  • Use data and analytics to prioritise opportunities and optimise performance 

  • Enable adoption of AI and automation to scale impact 

People Leadership 

  • Role model Microsoft culture and leadership principles 

  • Set clear goals, coach to outcomes, and invest in team growth and retention 


Qualifications

Required Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience 

  • 6+ years in technology pre-sales or sales leadership 

  • 5+ years people management experience 

Preferred Experience

  • MBA or advanced degree 

  • Extensive experience in enterprise or Public Sector technology sales
