We are seeking an experienced Cloud Engineer to join our IT Operations team based in Archerfield on a permanent, full-time basis.

As a Cloud Engineer, you will support the design, delivery and ongoing optimisation of our infrastructure environment across on-premise and cloud platforms.

Working closely with the Cloud Team Lead and broader IT teams, this role offers the opportunity to contribute to projects, modernise infrastructure platforms, expand our cloud capabilities, and deliver technology outcomes that support the business's long-term objectives.

What you’ll be doing:

As a Cloud Engineer at Hastings Deering, you will:

  • Support the availability, performance and ongoing administration of infrastructure systems across cloud and on-premise environments
  • Working with and supporting Microsoft 365 and Power Platform services from an operational perspective, ensuring platform stability, governance, user enablement, and continuous improvement

  • Maintain and optimise hybrid infrastructure platforms including compute, storage, backup, networking and identity services

  • Proactively identify risks and implement strategies to improve system resilience, reliability and security

  • Contribute to cloud transformation and infrastructure modernisation initiatives, including platform migrations and service improvements

  • Design, implement and support infrastructure solutions across Microsoft Azure and enterprise environments

  • Implement and maintain backup, recovery and disaster recovery processes aligned to agreed RPO and RTO requirements

  • Develop and maintain automation solutions using PowerShell and other tools to improve operational efficiency, consistency and reliability

  • Monitor system performance, troubleshoot complex issues and implement scalable, secure solutions

  • Provide Level 3 support and technical guidance to colleagues and team members

  • Collaborate with stakeholders across the business to deliver technology solutions aligned to strategic priorities

What you’ll need:

  • Tertiary qualifications in IT, Computer Science or equivalent

  • Relevant Microsoft, Azure or infrastructure certifications (or a willingness to obtain them)

  • Previous experience (approximately 5-7 years) in infrastructure or systems/cloud engineering roles

  • Experience with Microsoft 365 Administration including Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint, PowerPlatform

  • Strong experience supporting Windows Server and enterprise infrastructure environments

  • Experience administering virtualisation platforms such as Hyper-V and VMware

  • Proven ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues and deliver practical solutions

  • Experience with enterprise backup, storage and disaster recovery technologies

  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively across technical and business teams

  • A passion for continuous improvement, automation and modernization

Highly regarded:

  • Experience with Azure Virtual Desktop, Azure Local (Azure Stack HCI) or Hyper-V environments

  • Exposure to Microsoft Azure services and hybrid cloud environments

  • Exposure to enterprise identity platforms including Active Directory and Microsoft Entra ID

  • Exposure to Infrastructure as Code concepts and tools

  • Experience working within large, geographically dispersed environments

  • Awareness of enterprise platforms such as Dynamics 365 and the infrastructure services that support them
