Role summary

This position is ideal for mid-level analytics professionals to join the ANZ team as a Commercial Analyst (Data analysis/reporting), supporting data-driven decision-making across pricing, promotions, and commercial strategy. Partnering with cross-functional teams such as Finance, Sales and Marketing you’ll deliver robust reporting, analytics, and insights that support both immediate operational needs and long-term business objectives. This role plays a critical part in shaping promotional effectiveness, pricing governance, and overall business performance. This position is based in Sydney, Australia.

 


Key Responsibilities

Role expectations

·         Support the commercial business by delivering high-quality reporting and analytics aligned to short and long term business objectives. 

·         Conduct business model analysis to identify key value drivers and provide data-driven insights that inform strategy formulation and execution. 

·         Perform research and data analysis across customer segments and geographies to review and support sales leaders to design territory allocation, sales organization structure and customer coverage strategies that support business growth and commercial decision-making.

·         Develop, maintain, and enhance business dashboards and data visualization tools to improve visibility on business performance and market trends. 

·         Own the development, ongoing maintenance, and enhancement of the Promotional Analysis Tool to enable effective promotional planning and customer communication. 

·         Produce business pricing management analysis and ad-hoc analytical reports to support leadership and stakeholder needs. 

·         Collaborate closely with FP&A Manager, Sales, Marketing and Legal teams to support the effective implementation, monitoring, and optimization of promotional policies. 

·         Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and integrity across multiple source systems and reporting outputs.

·       Education: Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Economics, or a related field. 

·       Experience: 5+ years’ experience in data analysis, with demonstrated experience in market, commercial, or sales data analysis. 

·       Technical skills: Strong proficiency in SQL and at least one analytics or visualization tool such as Python, R, Tableau, or equivalent. Familiarity and understanding of SFDC. 

·       Analytical capability: Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to translate complex data into clear, actionable insights. 

·       Communication: Excellent communication skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively with cross-functional stakeholders. 

·       Autonomy: Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment.

Complementary skills

·       Experience building and maintaining analytical tools or calculators that support commercial or promotional decision-making. 

·       Strong data visualisation and dashboard design skills to support leadership-level reporting. 

·       Business acumen with an understanding of pricing, promotions, or sales effectiveness. 

·         Collaborative mindset with confidence working across cultures and functions.
