About the role

EIC Activities is seeking an experienced Commercial Manager to join our team in Brisbane or Sydney.

This is a critical senior role responsible for establishing centralised ownership of contract lifecycle management across a growing and complex portfolio of projects. You will provide commercial leadership and governance, ensuring contracts are managed effectively from execution through to close‑out while strengthening financial performance, compliance, and risk management outcomes.

This role will play a pivotal part in improving cashflow, enhancing project controls, and enabling consistent contract administration practices across the business.

This is more than a contracts role. It is an opportunity to:

  • Take ownership of contract lifecycle management across a national portfolio

  • Strengthen commercial governance and reduce organisational risk

  • Improve invoicing accuracy, revenue alignment, and cashflow outcomes

  • Partner closely with Project Managers and Finance to drive performance

  • Establish systems and reporting frameworks, including earned value analysis

  • Contribute to scalable processes that support ongoing business growth

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead end‑to‑end contract lifecycle administration from execution to close‑out

  • Establish and govern the contracts register, ensuring accuracy of key commercial data

  • Provide expert commercial guidance on contract terms, risks, and obligations

  • Oversee variation and change control processes, ensuring entitlements are captured and realised

  • Align invoicing with contractual terms, purchase orders, and project delivery

  • Support debtor management through provision of contractual advice and documentation

  • Ensure compliance with governance frameworks, including Delegations of Authority

  • Maintain audit‑ready contract records and documentation standards

  • Identify, manage, and escalate commercial risks

  • Support Project Managers as a central point of expertise for contract administration

  • Drive continuous improvement in contract systems, tools, and processes

About you

You are a commercially astute professional who thrives on bringing structure, clarity, and control to complex project environments. You combine strong contractual knowledge with practical delivery insight and are confident engaging with stakeholders across all levels.

You will ideally have:

  • A tertiary qualification in Business, Commerce, Law, Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline
  • 10+ years’ experience in contracts administration, commercial management, or project support roles
  • Strong experience across contract lifecycle management, invoicing alignment, and project controls
  • Proven ability to interpret contracts and provide sound commercial advice
  • Experience in professional services, engineering consultancy, or construction environments (desirable)
  • Familiarity with ERP, finance, or project systems (e.g. JDE, CRM platforms) (desirable)
  • Strong attention to detail, organisation, and document management capability
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills
  • The ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously
  • Sound judgement with the confidence to escalate risks appropriately

What We Offer

At EIC Activities, we offer:

  • The opportunity to shape a newly established role with significant business impact

  • A collaborative environment where your expertise directly influences project success

  • Support from a global organisation within one of the world’s leading contracting groups

  • Exposure to complex, high‑value infrastructure projects

  • Competitive remuneration and benefits, including:

    • Health and wellbeing programs

    • Company‑funded salary continuance insurance

    • Flexible work arrangements

  • A culture that values accountability, continuous improvement, and innovation
