About the Role

As a Communications Assistant, you’ll play a key role in building, maintaining, and supporting telecommunications networks across multiple major clients, including carrier and utility infrastructure.

Working as part of a crew (and occasionally independently), you’ll contribute to delivering high-quality outcomes across a variety of field-based projects involving fibre, HFC, civil, and network infrastructure.

This role suits someone who enjoys hands-on work, thrives outdoors, and takes pride in being part of essential infrastructure delivery.

Key Responsibilities

- Build, maintain, and decommission telecommunications networks across fibre, HFC and civil infrastructure

- Work across multiple project types and clients including major carriers and utilities

- Interpret construction plans, diagrams, and work packs

- Perform installation, hauling, and placement of cables in pits, ducts, and aerial environments

- Complete pre-start checks and maintain plant and equipment

- Participate in site safety initiatives and toolbox talks

- Complete job documentation and work order updates

- Work collaboratively with team members and stakeholders

What We’re Looking For

We’re seeking reliable, safety-focused individuals who enjoy working in a team and contributing to essential infrastructure projects.

Essential:

- Current Driver’s License

- Construction White Card

- Willing to work on an on-call roster, including planned night works

Highly Regarded:

- MR/HR Truck License

- EWP >13m or similar certifications

- Experience working on carrier networks

- First Aid or other safety certifications
