About the role

This role works closely with the Senior Compliance Manager and teams across HCF to support APRA and ASIC regulatory obligations, maintain strong compliance processes, and provide clear, practical guidance to the business.

Responsibilities include managing the compliance management framework, regulatory affairs, incident processes and compliance policies and training.

The position also coordinates incident management activities such as triage, advice, escalation and contributions to root‑cause analysis and remediation.

Work shifts between structured BAU tasks and fast‑moving reactive matters. Priorities can change quickly, and deadlines linked to regulatory requests or incidents may require prompt action. Collaboration across workstreams is essential, with everyone contributing where needed.

What You Bring

  • Tertiary qualifications in law, commerce, risk, compliance or related discipline
  • Experience in an APRA/ASIC‑regulated environment
  • Strong understanding of APRA prudential standards, Corporations Act, and key regulators (APRA, ASIC, DOH, OAIC, ACCC)
  • Ability to interpret legislation and simplify complex requirements
  • Strong communication, analytical and reporting skills
  • High attention to detail and sound judgment
  • Strong values with a practical mindset and a willingness to reprioritise as needed
  • desirable: Health, life or general insurance experience; exposure to executive-level reporting; knowledge of GRC tools/frameworks.
