Overview

The Consulting Account Manager drives Microsoft consulting, Industry Solutions Delivery (ISD), and Unified support services sales into government and public‑sector accounts across VIC/NSW/QLD. Based in East Coast Australia, this role originates, qualifies, and closes services opportunities — including large Whole‑of‑Government engagements — partnering closely with account teams, delivery, and customer leadership to deliver measurable business outcomes. Customer Territory is primarily Healthcare, so experience in this field may be of benefit

Responsibilities
  • Generate, qualify, and manage a healthy services pipeline across VIC/NSW/QLD government and public‑sector accounts, maintaining accurate forecasting and CRM (MSX) hygiene.
  • Originate and close consulting / ISD and Unified support deals, owning the end‑to‑end sales motion from qualification to signature.
  • Develop and execute account plans in partnership with account teams, aligning Microsoft services to customer priorities and renewal cycles (EA, MACC, Unified).
  • Build and maintain trusted relationships with customer business and technical decision‑makers, including C‑level stakeholders.
  • Orchestrate cross‑functional pursuit teams (specialists, delivery, deal desk, legal) to shape compliant, value‑based proposals.
  • Navigate public‑sector procurement and Whole‑of‑Government frameworks, supporting required deal approvals and risk assessments.
  • Deliver against quarterly and annual revenue and consumption targets.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Proven enterprise services, solution, or consulting sales experience with a consistent record of quota attainment.
  • Strong consultative selling skills and the ability to translate customer outcomes into services proposals.
  • Demonstrated government / public‑sector services sales experience into large, complex accounts (Healthcare a strong plus).
  • Disciplined pipeline management and forecasting rigor.
  • Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and orchestration skills.
  • Willingness to travel as required, including to VIC/NSW/QLD customers.
  • Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with Microsoft Cloud (Azure, Microsoft 365, Dynamics 365, Security) and Unified support offerings.
  • Existing relationships within the Western Australian and South Australian markets and government ecosystems.

This position will be open for a minimum of 5 days, with applications accepted on an ongoing basis until the position is filled.
