Hey, g'day, mabuhay, kia ora, 你好, hallo, vítejte!

Thanks for stopping by. We know job hunting can be a little time consuming and you're probably keen to find out what's on offer, so we'll get straight to the point.

Where and how you can work

Our flagship Sydney campus is uniquely Canva - an extension of our Surry Hills neighbourhood. It’s a thoughtfully designed space with plenty of room to collaborate, focus, and connect.

This role is based in Sydney, and we’re looking for someone who calls it home. Our hybrid way of working gives you the flexibility to work remotely, and to come together on campus for meaningful in-person collaboration and connection when it matters most. We trust our Canvanauts to choose the balance that empowers them and their team to achieve their goals.

What you’d be doing in this role

As Canva scales change continues to be part of our DNA. But we like to think that's all part of the fun. So this will give you the flavour of the type of things you'll be working on when you start, but this will likely evolve.

We are currently looking for a Corporate Accounting Manager to join our team.

We are looking for someone who thrives under constant change and is continuously looking for process improvements. Areas you would cover could include cash, intercompany, leases, accruals, and acquisition integrations. In this role, you’ll be a mix of reviewer and preparer depending on the level of complexity.

Additionally, in this role you’ll be expected to represent the corporate accounting team during AU hours by working closely with the broader accounting teams, tax team, and key business partners to support the close process, troubleshoot issues, and ensure accounting outcomes are accurate and reliable. As needed, you may also support adjacent initiatives such as systems enhancements, process documentation, and other accounting projects that strengthen close operations.

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Corporate Accounting Lead, you'll play a pivotal role in strengthening Canva's month-end close capabilities while building a high-performing team that can support the scale and complexity of a rapidly expanding company.

At the moment, this role is focused on:

  • Leading, coaching, and developing local corporate accountants, including performance management, career development, and building team capabilities.
  • Partnering with cross-functional stakeholders as needed to resolve month-end close issues, clarify accounting treatment, and support operational continuity.
  • Managing the integration of accounting processes and systems for acquired entities, ensuring seamless consolidation.
  • As needed - completing other general month-end close activities, including journals, reconciliations, flux analysis, and other close support as needed.
  • Maintaining effective internal controls and clear documentation to support accurate and timely close deliverables.
  • Identifying process improvements that strengthen close efficiency, accounting accuracy, and overall team effectiveness.
  • Supporting broader accounting projects and system enhancements that improve scalability and consistency across the close process.

You're probably a match if

You are a strategic Corporate Accounting Manager with strong technical expertise, operational skills, and a proven record of successfully developing and scaling accounting processes.

  • Proven experience managing and developing high-performing accounting teams with strong coaching and mentorship skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to partner effectively with FP&A, business leaders, and cross-functional stakeholders.
  • You are a strong team player with a proven track record of thriving on high-performing teams and continuously supporting a culture of growth and development through knowledge sharing and finding innovative solutions to complex problems.
  • You thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, you are able to adapt quickly to changing circumstances and effectively navigate competing priorities.
  • You play a key role as a subject matter expert to support effective collaboration with cross functional teams and help drive business process transformation and change management.
  • You have extensive experience in establishing and standardizing policies, processes, procedures and controls that are SOX compliant.
  • Proficiency with Netsuite or other Enterprise ERP and adjacent tools
  • Nice to have - experience with Floqast, AI tools, Canva, and working on a accounting global team
