About the role:
Halter is scaling rapidly across all states of Australia, and we are looking for the new AU Sales Director to accelerate that growth, living at the heart of everything we do in Australia.

This is a role for someone who can build the machine and stay close enough to the field to know whether it’s working. You’ll lead Halter’s Australian market, with full ownership for setting the sales and marketing strategy, building the team, and driving the execution required to grow Halter’s impact for pastoral cattle farmers across Australia.

One day, you’ll be coaching a Regional Sales Manager through the inputs that will unlock their team’s next level of performance. The next, you’ll be in a boardroom with one of Australia’s largest farming businesses, helping shape a deal that changes how they operate. By the end of the week, you might be on farm with a Territory Manager, listening to what’s actually keeping farmers up at night and turning those insights into sharper sales execution.

This role owns real commercial outcomes. You’ll be responsible for revenue growth, pipeline quality, forecasting, territory performance, leadership standards, and the culture of the AU sales team. You’ll work closely with marketing, customer, product, operations, and global sales leadership to make sure Halter’s go-to-market strategy is sharp, scalable, and deeply connected to the realities of Australian farming.

The impact is significant. Every farmer who joins Halter because of a well-coached rep, every enterprise customer who expands because the value is clear, every sales leader who raises their standard because you pushed them there. This is one of the most important growth roles in the business, and the person who lands it will know that and mean it.

Who we're looking for:
  • We’re looking for a rare kind of sales leader, someone who has built high-performing teams before, knows what exceptional looks like, and has the scars, standards, and instincts to prove it.

  • You’ll have led sales teams in a high-growth environment, ideally across SaaS, technology, agriculture, enterprise sales, or another complex, relationship-led industry. You know how to set a high bar, coach people towards it, and build the kind of team culture where talented people are pushed, supported, and genuinely proud of the work they do. You care deeply about people, but you don’t avoid hard conversations. You give direct feedback, raise standards, and help people achieve more than they thought they were capable of.

  • You’ll also be seriously commercially sharp. You know what’s happening inside your team’s pipeline, conversion rates, deal quality, territory coverage, activity levels, and forecast — not because someone sends you a report, but because you’re close enough to the work to know where the real opportunities and risks are. You don’t wait until the end of the quarter to discover a problem. You spot gaps early, act with pace, and bring people with you. You’re data-driven, but never robotic. You understand that the numbers show you where to look, and the people tell you what’s really going on.

  • This role also needs someone who can move between worlds with ease. Polished enough for the boardroom, real enough for the farm gate. Credible with senior executives, but just as comfortable building trust with the people actually running the farm. Agriculture experience would be a genuine advantage, but more important is respect for the industry, curiosity about how farming businesses operate, and the ability to earn trust with people whose livelihoods depend on the decisions they make.

  • Above all, we’re looking for someone with rare ownership, drive, and presence. Someone who wants the responsibility of building something enormous. Someone who can lead leaders, sell complex deals, raise the bar across a country, and still bring energy, pace, and belief to the team around them.

This is not a role for someone waiting for a perfect playbook. It’s for someone who can build one.

What your day could look like:
  • Build, develop, and performance-manage a team of Sales leaders, setting clear expectations, coaching in the field, levelling up leadership capability, and ensuring every manager can coach their teams to high performance.

  • Drive consistent execution through hands-on training, ride-a-longs, deal reviews, and continuous improvement rhythms.

  • Scale the Australian sales organisation, ensuring the right structure, talent density, and coaching infrastructure to support hypergrowth.

  • Own the Australian revenue number end-to-end, with clear accountability for predictable, accurate, country-level forecasting and pipeline coverage.

  • Build and continuously refine a data-driven operating model, ensuring every rep, manager, and region maintains disciplined pipeline hygiene, stage progression, and conversion performance.

  • Run deep weekly reviews on pipeline health, forecast variance, territory performance, leading indicators, and productivity metrics.

  • Drive the field marketing strategy, utilizing localized events to build the Halter brand and educate the market.

  • Partner closely with RevOps to design scalable dashboards, reporting, and insights that drive behaviour and decision-making.

  • Serve as the executive owner of Salesforce discipline across Australia, ensuring world-class accuracy, usage, data quality, and adoption.

  • Drive cross functional collaboration with key functional leaders at Halter HQ. You’ll bring Aussie customer truth, field insight, and commercial context into company wide decision making.

  • Spend significant time in the field, modelling best practices, supporting managers, and staying close to customer needs and market dynamics.

  • Use field insights to shape sales strategy, territory design, role clarity, and coaching priorities.

  • Translate Australian customer insights into clear product, engineering, onboarding, and go-to-market requirements that influence global priorities.

  • Build strong partnerships across Halter’s global organisation to ensure Aus needs are understood, prioritised, and acted upon.

  • Other duties as required from time to time.
