Job Summary
Barings is seeking a highly analytical individual to assist prospective clients to understand financial objectives and help develop bespoke financing solutions across a wide range of financing options.
Primary Responsibilities
- Meeting with prospective clients (Private equity sponsors & corporate clients) to understand financial objectives and help develop bespoke financing solutions across a wide range of financing options
- Assessing and suggesting suitable investment opportunities with a focus on evaluating risk/return and credit profile for each investment, and proving or disproving potential investment thesis
- Analyze and provide recommendations on investment strategies, sources/uses of funds and the distribution of earnings
- Prepare client presentations and develop client relationships through deal execution and pitching
- Perform ongoing monitoring of investment performance and risk for loans including historical financial analysis, credit quality, cash flow and serviceability metrics and revising internal investment plans based on changing market needs.
- Prepare and review financing alternatives for prospective clients across debt capital markets including Untrenched and secured and senior/mezzanine loan markets
- Prepare and present investment recommendations and ongoing portfolio performance attribution to senior management
- Monitoring and analyzing up to date market data including primary and secondary market developments and opportunities in the non-investment grade and cross-over rated markets
Qualifications
- A Bachelor degree in Commerce, finance or a related field
- At least 2 years of relevant experience in leveraged finance
- Ability to work to tight deadlines and prioritize work and multi-task responsibilities
- "Can-do" mentality and hardworking
- Excellent report writing skills
- Strong financial and analytical skills
