This role is centered on keeping Civica’s revenue flowing smoothly. Day to day, the Credit Controller manages an allocated customer portfolio, follows up on overdue invoices, and works with customers to ensure payments are received within agreed terms. The role involves regular phone and email contact, updating account notes, preparing statements, and keeping collection activity accurately recorded in our systems.

You will work closely with finance colleagues and internal teams to resolve account queries, flag risks early, and support month‑end activity. The role is structured and target‑driven, with clear priorities and support from experienced credit and finance leaders. It offers variety, steady pace, and the satisfaction of seeing direct impact through improved cash flow and strong customer relationships, all within a business delivering technology that supports essential public services.


Requirements

What you will need to be successful in this role

  • Qualification or studies in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related discipline
  • Experience or exposure to accounts receivable, credit control, or finance administration
  • Ability to actively pursue overdue invoices via phone and email in line with KPIs
  • Understanding of payment terms and basic credit risk principles
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • High attention to detail and accuracy in maintaining financial records
  • Ability to reconcile customer accounts and resolve discrepancies
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
  • Willingness to work within finance systems and ERP platforms
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities
  • Professional approach to customer engagement and sensitive information
  • Results‑focused mindset with a commitment to continuous improvement
