Part of CBA’s Retail Credit Risk division, you will be a key member in our Retail Provisioning, Forecasting & Stress Testing team - a critical function that ensures the continued success of CBA and our valued customers.

On a day-to-day basis you will: 

  • Prepare Loan Impairment Expense (LIE) estimates on a monthly basis, assisting the Group Loan Loss Provisioning Committee.

  • Support the Retail Credit Risk framework with a sound and adequate provisioning forecasting process for all retail products.

  • Use advanced knowledge of business and regulatory drivers to provide strategic insights and analysis to business unit partners and senior management on credit related issues.

  • Conduct stress testing to assess the resilience of our lending portfolio under adverse economic conditions.

  • Work closely with model developers, validators and implementation teams to assist with the maintenance and improvement of existing/newly developed credit risk models and their data infrastructure.

  • Work productively together with your team to meet deadlines and maintain strong stakeholder relationships across the business.

We are interested in hearing from people who:

  • Come from a Banking & Finance background with experience in credit risk management.

  • Ability to partner across teams, summarise issues, develop recommendations and make decisions.

  • Have an understanding of macroeconomic/regulatory environments and credit risk management.

  • Have proficient written and verbal communication skills, including ability to succinctly articulate key insights and advice to diverse audiences.

  • Demonstrated expertise in SAS, SQL, R or other data science/analytics software.

  • Have the ability and drive to work in a high performing, fast paced environment.

  • Have exceptional academic qualifications in areas such as Actuarial Studies, Financial Mathematics/Statistics, Credit Modelling, Computer Science, Applied Finance, Financial Statement Analysis or other relevant fields.
