Own customer success across enterprise utility accounts by becoming a platform expert, supporting network model builds, driving adoption through training and workshops, tracking business outcomes, providing technical guidance, identifying expansion opportunities, and sharing customer insights with Sales, Deployment, and Product. The role is customer-facing, technically oriented, and focused on helping infrastructure and energy customers realize value from Neara’s AI-powered digital twin platform.

Imagine having the power to stress-test an entire power grid against a hurricane or thunderstorm before the clouds even gather. That is the reality we are creating at Neara.

We use advanced machine learning to create engineering-grade, physics enabled digital twins of electricity grids across four continents, this helps asset owners understand their biggest challenges and bring the most viable solutions to life across millions of kilometres of infrastructure.

By simulating extreme weather and structural stress at a network-wide scale, we empower the world’s largest utilities to pinpoint risks, optimise investments and build a more resilient global energy future.

Our team is a collection of brilliant minds who are fanatical about making a tangible difference in the real world, utilising AI and machine learning to accelerate everything from data classification to complex scenario analysis. We have built a special culture where innovation thrives because everyone owns the mission and we need smart, creative people to help us scale this impact to every corner of the globe.

What it means to be a Customer Success Engineer at Neara

When our customers get the most out of Neara, the results are clear:

  • A US utility cuts 25,000 planned pole replacements to 4,000 without compromising safety.

  • SA Power Networks restores power in five days instead of three weeks.

  • An Australian utility compresses 36 months of transmission design into four.

None of that happens when software sits on a shelf. It happens when a customer’s engineers trust the platform, build it into how they work, and can show the value to their own leadership. As a Customer Success Engineer, you own your piece of why those outcomes happen.

You’ll work across a portfolio of enterprise accounts: utilities and infrastructure owners on different continents, each with its own network, regulatory context and Neara model build. That means real breadth across the platform, from helping stand up network models to supporting solutions like vegetation management and beyond. You’ll see more ways Neara gets used, and more problems it can solve, than almost anyone else in the business. You’ll also spend real time on-site, in the room with the people using Neara every day.

It’s a great fit if you want to build deep technical and customer skills fast, across a wide range of customers and problems.

This is a Sydney-based role.

What You’ll Do
  • Become a Neara expert: Get deeply proficient in the platform and the models behind it, so you can turn what it does into what it means for each customer.

  • Get hands-on with model builds: Help stand up and refine network models and solutions, like vegetation management, across your customers, working closely with Deployment.

  • Drive adoption that sticks: Enable customer teams to use Neara confidently, through hands-on support, focused training and workshops built around their actual workflows.

  • Make sure the value lands: Track delivery against scope and business outcomes, and help customers with the workflow and change management work that sits outside the core platform.

  • Be the go-to technical contact: Build trusted relationships with the engineers and teams using Neara day to day, and give them clear, credible guidance on getting more from the platform.

  • Spot the next opportunity: Notice new pain points and business drivers that Neara can solve, and bring them to Sales and Deployment to shape account strategy.

  • Connect the dots across accounts: Bring what you learn from one customer or model build to the next, and feed patterns back to Sales, Deployment and Product.

What You’ll Bring
  • Customer-facing experience: Experience working with enterprise customers and stakeholders, from consulting, customer success, solutions or technical roles.

  • Technical curiosity and fluency: Comfort with enterprise software platforms and deployments, and a real appetite to learn the engineering behind ours.

  • Commercial awareness: An understanding of how technology creates value for a business, and experience helping customers measure it.

  • Clear communication: You can explain complex technical topics simply, to engineers and executives alike.

  • Outcome-first thinking: You work back from what a customer needs to achieve to the technical solution that gets them there.

  • Relationship building: You build trust through credibility, authenticity and transparency, and you enjoy being in front of customers.

  • A proactive problem-solver: You find creative ways to solve customer pain points and create commercial opportunities, without waiting to be asked.

  • Bonus points for: Experience in infrastructure or the energy sector, or an engineering degree. Neither is essential.

Why work here
  • Competitive salary + ESOP. Significant career development and growth opportunities.

  • Fully flexible working arrangements with a well-stocked office in Redfern.

  • Highly meritocratic, non-bureaucratic, and no-ego work culture.

  • Regular company events.

  • The opportunity to work on complex, meaningful products and real-world problems.

  • The opportunity to play a direct, critical role in the trajectory of a high growth company.

  • Neara values diversity, belonging, and equal employment opportunities. We encourage individuals from all backgrounds to apply.
