The role & it's impact:

As a Data Analyst you will play a pivotal role in making small business more beautiful by delivering high-quality science, analytics, and insights. You will immerse yourself in vast data stores to build a shared understanding of customer behaviours, helping to shape product and marketing strategies that have a global impact.

Your work will directly influence how Xero manages digital performance acquisition, customer engagement, and retention. By extracting insights from complex data sources and conducting rigorous experiments, you will empower internal teams to understand current trends and motivate customer behaviour.

The team & how they connect:

Reporting to our Advanced Analytics Manager, you will join an AU based team who work closely with teams like Customer Engagement to understand current trends and the customer landscape, ensuring our global community is supported by big-business technology.

Initially, you will focus on:

  • Executing a high pace of A/B testing and experimentation analysis to improve product and process quality.

  • Analysing complex datasets from the Xero data platform, Google Analytics, and Mixpanel to understand customer landscape and trends.

  • Developing and productionising proofs of concept and data assets for high-level reporting and dashboards.

  • Partnering with the Customer Engagement team to proactively manage digital performance, retention, and personalisation efforts.

Where and how you can work

This is an 11-month contract role providing parental leave cover. We offer a hybrid working model that balances remote flexibility with purposeful "boost days" in the office to collaborate and connect with your peers.

Here are some of the things we are looking for:

  • You bring a wealth of experience in data and analytics within the digital or tech industry, specifically handling large-scale datasets.

  • You possess hands on SQL skills for data manipulation alongside a solid foundation in Python for analysis.

  • Your background includes a deep understanding of experimentation design, particularly the A/B testing framework.

  • You have a talent for storytelling, with the ability to present complex statistical findings to non-technical stakeholders through clear visualisations and slide decks.

  • You demonstrate an open mind and the flexibility to tackle unfamiliar domains while working with diverse data sources.

Apply even if your experience isn't a perfect match! At Xero, we hire based on your skills, passion, and the unique perspective you can bring to enhance our culture and team.
