About The Role
At HammondCare, data is not just information it is a critical enabler of safe, high‑quality care, trusted decision‑making, and responsible innovation.
The Data Architect plays a pivotal role in shaping how data is designed, governed, and used across HammondCare. This role is accountable for defining and evolving both the current‑state and future‑state enterprise data architecture, ensuring our data is trusted, secure, interoperable, and fit‑for‑purpose across clinical, operational, and corporate domains.
Working closely with clinical leaders, business teams, technology partners, and vendors, the Data Architect establishes clear enterprise data standards, patterns, and models that enable reliable reporting, analytics, AI‑enabled insights, and compliance with regulatory and ethical obligations.
This is a hands‑on, outcomes‑focused role translating strategy into practical architecture decisions that improve data quality, reduce risk, and enable HammondCare to scale responsibly while staying true to our mission of care.
This is a contract role for 22 months working at St Leonards with hybrid opportunities.

About you
At least 7 year’s demonstrated experience operating as a Data Architect or senior data engineering/architecture leader in complex, regulated environments (such as health, aged care, government, or large enterprises), with accountability for enterprise‑wide outcomes
Tertiary qualifications in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data & Analytics, or a related discipline — or equivalent practical experience delivering at scale
Strong capability in enterprise data modelling, integration architecture, and modern data platform patterns, with the ability to balance architectural rigour and real‑world constraints
Proven experience designing data architectures that enable analytics, reporting, and AI‑enabled use cases, while maintaining trust, safety, and compliance
Working knowledge of data governance and stewardship, including metadata management, lineage, data quality, classification, privacy, and information lifecycle management
Strong stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to influence, guide, and build alignment without formal authority, particularly across clinical, operational, and technology teams
Clear and confident communication, documentation, and decision‑making skills, with the ability to explain complex concepts in plain English for executive and clinical audiences
Architecture and/or data certifications are desirable (e.g. TOGAF, Azure or AWS data certifications, DAMA/CDMP), but practical experience and sound judgement are equally valued
