How you’ll make an impact:
The Marketing Data Science, Analytics & Insights team is responsible for empowering Xero to deliver successful digital, product, customer & marketing outcomes through actionable insights. We enable digital, marketing and product teams with key information to; understand the current trends, customer and scape, inform and motivate customer behaviour and shape customer, product & marketing strategy. You will join a global team and the teams we work with are split geographically between the US and Australia.
As the Data Enablement Lead, you will act as a product owner for a variety of data products and applications. You will be part of a cross-functional team of data engineers, scientists, and researchers using data to impact business outcomes and decisions. You will partner with Marketing, Sales, Strategy, and other stakeholders to design and build custom solutions to drive improved targeting and decision making.
What you'll do:
- Partner with the business to shape the opportunities of data enrichment can be used to leverage the commercial or customer benefits
- Partner closely with stakeholders to understand business use cases, advise on solution design, and create product requirements
- Set direction and drive development of key Xero data sets and applications built on top of them
- Work entrepreneurially to make sure our products are meeting business units needs and benefits
- Interpret the semantic meaning of internal and third party data and translate to technical requirements in data products
- Map the business process how the data enrichment we will be utilised
- Use and enable an experiment based approach to measure and improve our products and business.
- Work cross-functionally with engineering, science, legal, strategy and marketing teams to build products that fit into Xero’s tech stack
- Ensure robust, reliable, and predictable operation of data products
- Support other teams that want to build data enrichment data products on top of our applications and platforms.
What you’ll bring with you
- Bachelor degree with 5+ years of industry experience in digital or marketing science domain
- Deep knowledge in utilising data and working with 3rd party vendors
- Experience building and scaling data enriched products
- Experience in running cross functional data programs and business mapping data processes, and building data enriched products
- Proven track record of building out a data-driven culture where data drives the strategy forward
- Strong communication skills with the ability to break down complex data and deliver meaningful, actionable insights to stakeholders
- Technical skills: semantic understanding of associated data, SQL and ability to interrogate data sets
