Job Description

As Data Product Manager within our Consumer Brands portfolio,you will support the delivery of the data strategy for Nine’s premier Streaming and Publishing brands, including their respective data squads and our enterprise experimentation capability.

As a key connector between commercial/consumer objectives and technical execution, you will collaborate with Product, Technology, and Business stakeholders to identify and scale high-value data products. From initial requirements through to delivery, you will manage initiatives that enable data-driven decision-making, and create world-class consumer experiences and commercial products.

What you’ll do:

  • Analyse stakeholder requirements from Commercial, Product,Engineering, Consumer Operations and Marketing to shape data products that drive business outcomes, enhance user experience, and manage cost of ownership.

  • Lead requirements discovery to provide clear documentation and translate data initiatives into user stories, acceptance criteria, process flows and visualisation wireframes.

  • Support the delivery process for a dedicated data engineering squad, contributing to sprint planning, backlog refinement, and daily standups.

  • Partner with the Data Engineering team to determine technical feasibility and define solution options for timely and cost-efficient delivery.

  • Proactively communicate any requirement dependencies, issues, or risks identified throughout the analysis process.

  • Engage with internal and external stakeholders (such as ratings agencies) to clarify requirements, confirm solution approaches, and inform priorities.

Qualifications

What you’ll bring:

  • 3+ years of experience in Data Product Management/ Technical Business Analysis, or a commercially focused data role.

  • A proven track record of delivering products that balance consumer experience with commercial outcomes.

  • Strong understanding of data structures and SQL (BigQuery preferred); experience with Python is also valuable.

  • Ability to perform data exploration using SQL to validate hypotheses before moving to development.

  • Ability to translate complex data science or engineering concepts into clear value for non-technical stakeholders.

  • Deep experience working in an Agile environment, managing backlogs in Jira, and leading sprint ceremonies.
