In partnership with the Indigenous Defence & Infrastructure Consortium (iDiC), Datacom is offering paid trainee positions for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people of all ages. Whether you’re new to the workforce or ready for a career change, we’ll provide the training and support you need to succeed.
Please note recruitment will commence in the new year.
About the Role
As a Trainee, you’ll learn on the job, shadow experienced team members, and build your skills in areas like Networks or Tech Support. You’ll start with the basics and grow into more responsibility as you gain confidence.
Some future responsibilities may include:
- Log and track tickets in our system.
- Troubleshoot simple issues using step-by-step guides.
- Escalate complex problems to senior team members.
- Monitor systems for alerts and report issues.
- Install and configure software under supervision.
How We’ll Support You
Alongside Datacom’s training, mentoring, and coaching, you’ll also join the JLB-Yaran Indigenous Development Employment Program (IDEP). This program is designed to empower Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people through social and economic development, delivered by experienced veterans and Indigenous professionals.
