What your typical day will look like
A typical day for the Account Director at Merkle B2B is dynamic and fast-paced, balancing strategic leadership with hands-on client engagement of top tier brands. In this role, you’ll play a key role to coordinate efforts across teams, on shore and off, and provide the strategic direction to launch, monitor performance, and report on campaign outcomes at a local, regional and possibly global level. This means working in close collaboration with cross-functional teams in different time zones from time to time to ensure campaigns are on track and aligned with client goals.
This is a newly established role too, so you’ll be helping to set the standard for our internal teams and clients to establish new ways of working. As a client and team lead you’ll be responsible for mentoring your team, reviewing work for quality and consistency between channels and markets, and uplifting the overall capability of your team. Financial oversight and project management are key areas too, when it comes to forecasting and reporting, and responding to new business pitches or inter-agency coordination, especially for global accounts. The role demands agility, strategic thinking, and a strong client-first mindset.
Responsibilities include:
- Lead and grow a portfolio of client accounts, acting as the senior point of contact and ensuring commercial success.
- Develop and present strategic media recommendations across various channels, aligning with client business and campaign objectives.
- Mentor and manage an account team, fostering professional growth and ensuring adherence to best practices.
- Oversee campaign execution and performance, including reporting, analysis, and continuous optimisation.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships, including leading inter-agency collaboration and global coordination.
- Lead and support new business efforts across the agency, including responding to briefs and participating in pitch presentations.
- Manage financial performance, including forecasting, reporting, and scope of work negotiations.
- Stay ahead of industry trends, particularly in digital media, and apply insights to enhance client strategies.
A bit about you
- You come from a Media/Ad agency background, ideally with experience in B2B and technology clients.
- Strong strategic and analytical thinking, with the ability to translate complex business challenges into actionable media strategies.
- Comprehensive media knowledge, including digital, offline, broadcast, and lead generation, with a focus on integration and innovation.
- Excellent client relationship management, capable of building trust and influencing senior stakeholders.
- Team leadership and development experience, including mentoring, performance management, and fostering a collaborative culture.
- Commercial acumen, with experience in financial forecasting, scope negotiations, and delivering profitable account growth.
What’s in it for you
- Real flexibility to work when and where you feel most productive with our ‘Be the Best You’ policy.
- 5 weeks annual leave after 2 years of service and 3 whole company mental health awareness days off per year.
- Career Development and Learning & Development opportunities, including access to our global online dentsu University.
- Save money with great discounts on health insurance, gym membership, buying a car and travel!
