The Director, Brand, Sponsorship & Centurion will lead a high-performing team responsible for shaping and communicating the American Express brand promise, delivering differentiated sponsorships and member experiences, and driving the strategic direction and customer value proposition of the Centurion portfolio across ANZ. This role is accountable for strengthening brand relevance, deepening customer engagement and loyalty, and delivering innovative experiences and propositions that drive business growth.

Working across local and global teams, the Director will oversee key partnerships, agency relationships and strategic initiatives that support enterprise-wide priorities and deliver exceptional customer outcomes. The Brand, Sponsorship & Centurion team has an enterprise-wide remit, managing campaigns, experiences, partnerships and customer propositions that work across B2B and B2C audiences to support business priorities and drive enterprise goals.

Responsibilities
  • Serve as the brand champion across ANZ, driving brand relevance, consideration, advocacy and business growth through a differentiated and consistent brand strategy.
  • Lead the development and execution of integrated brand strategies and campaigns that strengthen customer engagement, support enterprise priorities and enhance the value of the American Express brand to drive acquisition.
  • Oversee media, creative and agency strategies to ensure best-in-class execution, innovative storytelling and effective customer communications.
  • Develop and execute differentiated sponsorship, partnership and member experience strategies that elevate the brand, strengthen customer engagement and deliver measurable business outcomes.
  • Define the strategic partnership agenda across Entertainment, Dining, Retail, Travel and Sport, ensuring partnerships create distinctive customer value and support enterprise growth objectives.
  • Establish strategic priorities for premium benefits, access and experiential platforms, including lounge and lifestyle experiences, to drive customer engagement, loyalty and advocacy.
  • Own the strategic direction and long-term value proposition for the Centurion portfolio across ANZ, ensuring alignment with Enterprise priorities and the evolving needs of our highest-value Card Members.
  • Provide executive oversight of the Centurion portfolio, balancing customer value, commercial performance, portfolio economics and brand equity to deliver sustainable growth and profitability.
  • Lead the development and execution of the Centurion strategy and roadmap, leveraging customer insights, competitive intelligence and market trends to identify opportunities for innovation, differentiation and growth.
  • Oversee the evolution of the Centurion member experience, partnering across Product, Servicing, Travel & Lifestyle Services, Membership Rewards and Global teams to deliver a seamless and differentiated premium proposition.
  • Champion Centurion customer acquisition, engagement and retention strategies that support portfolio growth and broader enterprise objectives.
  • Champion customer-centricity across all initiatives, delivering best-in-class, data-driven communications and experiences that demonstrate membership value and strengthen customer relationships.
  • Measure and evaluate brand, sponsorship and Centurion portfolio performance, leveraging customer, financial and operational insights to optimise investment decisions and business outcomes.
  • Influence and align senior stakeholders across local and global markets to develop and deliver strategic programs that support business priorities and enterprise objectives.
  • Lead the integration of B2B and B2C membership capabilities in partnership with digital and enterprise teams to create more connected customer experiences.
  • Ensure robust governance, risk and compliance frameworks are embedded across brand, sponsorship and Centurion initiatives while enabling innovation and growth.
  • Lead and inspire a high-performing team, including three direct reports, fostering a culture of innovation, inclusion, collaboration and continuous development.
Qualifications
  • 15+ years of experience across brand, sponsorship, customer marketing, premium products, portfolio management or related disciplines, with a proven track record of delivering customer and business growth outcomes.
  • Demonstrated experience developing and executing enterprise-wide brand, sponsorship, customer and portfolio strategies, ideally within premium customer segments.
  • Strong strategic and commercial acumen, with the ability to identify growth opportunities, evaluate investments and drive sustainable business performance.
  • Proven portfolio management experience, including ownership of complex strategic initiatives, customer value propositions and significant investment budgets.
  • Strong financial and analytical capabilities, with the ability to leverage data, customer insights and market intelligence to inform decision-making and optimise outcomes.
  • Proven success in developing and managing strategic partnerships, sponsorships and customer experiences that strengthen brand equity and customer loyalty.
  • Experience leading integrated marketing strategies, including media planning, creative development, communications and agency management.
  • Exceptional stakeholder management and influencing skills, with the ability to build strong relationships and align diverse local and global stakeholders around shared objectives.
  • Strong governance, risk and compliance orientation, with experience balancing innovation, customer outcomes and operational excellence.
  • Exceptional people leadership skills, with a demonstrated ability to build high-performing teams, develop talent and foster an inclusive and engaged culture.
  • Outstanding communication and presentation skills, with the ability to influence senior leaders and represent the organisation both internally and externally.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a strong focus on execution and results.
