Role Overview

Statara is seeking a Data Solutions & Engineering leader with strong experience in adtech, martech, media technology, or commercially relevant customer data environments. This person will guide the design and evolution of client-facing data and analytics solutions while serving as the department head for Data Products & Engineering. The role combines data-platform and solution architecture, commercial judgment, and organizational leadership—bridging business needs with Statara’s Data, Insights, and Activation capabilities.

As department head, this person will lead the Data Products & Engineering team—setting technical direction, managing priorities, and ensuring the reliability and continued evolution of Statara’s core data infrastructure. Snowflake is central to the environment, but the role requires working knowledge of the broader modern data ecosystem, including ingestion, transformation, orchestration, cloud infrastructure, analytics, governance, and activation tools.

On the solutions side, this role partners closely with Business Development, Product, Data Science, and Engineering to shape scalable adtech and data solutions, support pre-sales technical strategy, and determine when a client need should be addressed through a custom solution, a repeatable capability, or a scalable data product.

This is a working leadership role for a strong data-platform technologist with commercial instincts. The person will set direction and manage the function while remaining close enough to the technology and client work to evaluate architecture, troubleshoot complex issues, shape solutions, and translate technical concepts into clear, natural language for clients and internal stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

Department Leadership: Data Products & Engineering

•        Serve as the head of the Data Products & Engineering department, setting vision, priorities, and technical direction

•        Lead, manage, and develop team members, including coaching, mentorship, performance oversight, and capacity planning

•        Own the operational health of Statara’s data infrastructure, including pipeline reliability, platform stability, data quality, documentation, and data-product performance

•        Drive the continued evolution of Snowflake-based architecture and the surrounding data ecosystem, making sound decisions across ingestion, transformation, orchestration, cloud, analytics, and activation tools

•        Own and evolve the data-platform and data-product roadmap, balancing infrastructure reliability, client needs, commercial opportunities, technical debt, and longer-term platform investments

•        Provide clear recommendations to company leadership on platform investments, staffing needs, delivery risks, technical priorities, and opportunities to expand or productize Statara’s capabilities

Solution Architecture & Strategy

•        Lead the technical shaping of client solutions, from initial concept or test through architecture, high-level design, validation, and delivery planning

•        Translate business objectives into clear data, analytics, and activation approaches that align with Statara’s capabilities

•        Serve as a key technical voice on complex or novel solution designs

•        Identify opportunities to standardize and scale solutions across clients and use cases, including when to convert custom work into repeatable capabilities or data products

Client & Pre-Sales Support

•        Partner with Business Development to qualify and shape opportunities, clarify technical requirements, assess feasibility, and support proposals, demonstrations, and solution walkthroughs

•        Participate in client and executive conversations as a technical resource, translating complex adtech and data concepts into clear business language, practical recommendations, and measurable value

•        Support the development of technical demonstrations, solution walkthroughs, and related materials for key opportunities

Feasibility & Validation

•        Guide data and analytical validation efforts to confirm solution viability, scalability, and expected outcomes

•        Review data structures, assumptions, and analytical outputs to ensure technical soundness

•        Support proof points (e.g., pilots, prototypes, demonstrations) where they strengthen solution confidence

•        Establish practical standards for data governance, security, documentation, observability, and quality that are appropriate to Statara’s size and client commitments

Cross-Functional Alignment

•        Collaborate with Product, Data Science, Engineering, and Business Development to align solution designs with platform capabilities, client expectations, commercial potential, and delivery realities

•        Surface risks, dependencies, and tradeoffs early to maintain momentum and clarity

•        Bridge commercial intent and technical execution across teams, ensuring that proposed solutions are both technically credible and commercially useful

What Success Looks Like

•        The Data Products & Engineering team operates with clear priorities, strong execution, practical management, and alignment to company objectives

•        Snowflake and the surrounding data ecosystem are reliable, well-maintained, and evolving through sound platform and tooling decisions

•        Adtech and data opportunities are qualified and scoped accurately, with strong technical grounding, commercial relevance, and clear client-facing explanations

•        Technical solutions are feasible, scalable, and clearly aligned to business value

•        Cross-functional teams are aligned on requirements, risks, and delivery plans

•        Company leadership receives clear, practical recommendations on platform investment, staffing, risk, and productization opportunities

•        Custom solutions increasingly become repeatable capabilities or scalable data products where the market opportunity and delivery model support it

Requirements

We’re looking for demonstrated technical depth and sound judgment—earned through real exposure to complex problems—more than a specific career path or title history.

•        Demonstrated experience in adtech, martech, media technology, customer data, or a related environment involving identity, audiences, activation, personalization, or measurement

•        Hands-on working knowledge of Snowflake is required. Candidates should be able to contribute confidently to Snowflake architecture and platform decisions while understanding how Snowflake operates within a broader modern data ecosystem.

•        Working knowledge of modern data integration, transformation, orchestration, cloud, analytics, governance, and activation tools; experience with AWS, Alteryx, or comparable technologies is a plus

•        Strong client-facing communication skills, including the ability to translate technical language into clear, natural explanations and connect technical choices to business outcomes

•        Team leadership and people-management experience required, including coaching, priority-setting, capacity planning, accountability, and development of technical team members

•        Familiarity with data integration, pipelines, data modeling, and solution architecture concepts

•        Ability to translate business needs into technical requirements and executable solution plans

•        Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including comfort working with complex datasets
