For more than 20 years, KordaMentha has supported businesses through some of their most complex matters and opportunities. Founder owned and led; we are an advisory firm that helps corporations, financiers, lawyers, private investors and government clients to grow, protect and recover value.

That’s what we do, but it’s how we do this that makes us who we are.

Job Description

Senior roles that offer real influence, close collaboration with Partners and the chance to help shape a growing national practice don't come along often.

Our eDiscovery practice is growing, and we're looking for an accomplished E-Discovery professional to help shape its next chapter from Sydney.

You'll lead complex, high-stakes engagements and advise senior clients and legal counsel, working closely with Partners, senior leaders and industry experts. This is a rare chance to make your mark, grow the capability and build a high-performing team within a collaborative international practice.

What's in it for you:

Influence that counts. You'll be a trusted adviser on high-stakes matters, shaping strategy and outcomes that help clients achieve their goals and deliver lasting impact.

Build something lasting. You'll help drive the growth of the eDiscovery capability, from client relationships to team capability.

Grow as a leader. You'll work side by side with the Partner and senior industry experts, with dedicated mentoring and clear development opportunities to help you take your next step.

A national platform. You'll collaborate with colleagues across Australia, New Zealand and Singapore and our other service lines to deliver integrated client solutions.

Lead on technology. You'll lead the adoption of AI-assisted review, advanced analytics and technology-assisted review (TAR) across the team.

A culture that backs you. You'll join a collaborative, inclusive team where knowledge is shared openly and people work together to help each other succeed.

In this role you will:

  • Lead multiple large-scale eDiscovery engagements from start to finish, with accountability for scope, budget and deliverables.
  • Design eDiscovery strategies and workflows tailored to each client's objectives.
  • Build trusted relationships with senior clients, legal counsel and key stakeholders.
  • Win new work and lead proposals, pitches and thought leadership with the Partner.
  • Lead, mentor and develop Managers, Associates and Analysts.
  • Oversee quality and risk so that all work is defensible and of the highest standard.

Qualifications

  • 6–10 years of eDiscovery experience in professional services, consulting or legal environments, including leading complex engagements.
  • Expert command of Relativity, Nuix Discover, Reveal or similar platforms, and of the full EDRM.
  • Proven experience applying advanced analytics, TAR and AI-assisted review.
  • A growing network of clients and legal contacts, and the drive to build it further.
  • Demonstrated people leadership, including coaching and developing Managers.
  • Strong communication skills, sound commercial judgement and a collaborative, can-do approach.
  • A degree in Law, Computer Science or a related field. Relativity certifications are highly regarded.
