As Director, Credit & Enterprise Risk Advisory, you'll lead Zip's Line 2 Risk Advisory function across Australia and New Zealand, providing independent oversight, challenge and strategic advice across enterprise risk. Reporting to the Chief Risk & Compliance Officer, you'll lead a team of five experienced risk professionals and play a key leadership role in strengthening Zip's risk and control environment while enabling the business to grow confidently within risk appetite.

This is a highly visible leadership role where you'll influence executive decision making, engage regularly with Board and Committee stakeholders and help shape the future maturity of Zip's Enterprise Risk Framework.

What you'll own
  • Lead the ANZ Line 2 Risk Advisory function, setting strategic direction, priorities and delivering the annual Risk Advisory work program.
  • Partner with Executive Leadership and senior business leaders to embed effective risk management into strategic planning, operational decision making and business transformation initiatives.
  • Provide independent challenge and commercially balanced advice on material risks, emerging issues, risk appetite and control effectiveness.
  • Lead oversight of Credit and Financial Risk, including portfolio performance, underwriting, credit decisioning, model governance, stress testing and financial risk exposures.
  • Lead the Second Line Controls function, strengthening controls assurance and continuously improving Zip's control environment.
  • Partner with the Director, Risk & Compliance to evolve and enhance Zip's Enterprise Risk Framework, governance, policies and methodologies.
  • Deliver high quality enterprise risk reporting, insights and recommendations to Executive Leadership, Risk Committees, the Audit & Risk Committee and the Board.
  • Identify emerging risks, industry developments and regulatory changes, ensuring they are incorporated into Zip's enterprise risk approach.
  • Chair the Non Financial Risk Forum and represent Risk Advisory across key governance committees including Regional Risk Committee, Product & Pricing Committee and Credit Risk Committee.
  • Champion a strong risk culture by promoting continuous improvement, governance excellence and clear ownership of risk across the organisation.
  • Lead, coach and develop a high performing team of five risk professionals, building capability, succession and an engaged, collaborative culture.
  • Leverage AI, automation and modern analytical capabilities to strengthen oversight, improve operational efficiency and enhance decision making across the Risk function.
What you'll bring to the team

  • 15+ years' experience leading first or second line risk functions within financial services, fintech or another highly regulated industry.
  • Deep expertise across Credit Risk, Financial Risk and Enterprise Risk Management, with strong knowledge of consumer lending, portfolio oversight, model governance and credit risk frameworks.
  • Experience leading controls assurance or non financial risk oversight functions.
  • Demonstrated success partnering with Executive Leadership, Board Committees and senior stakeholders to provide clear, practical and commercially balanced risk advice.
  • Strong leadership capability with experience developing experienced risk professionals and building high performing specialist teams.
  • Exceptional stakeholder management and influencing skills, with the ability to build trusted relationships across all levels of the organisation.
  • Outstanding strategic thinking, analytical capability and communication skills, with the ability to translate complex risk issues into practical business outcomes.
  • Strong commercial judgement with the ability to balance customer outcomes, regulatory obligations, risk appetite and business growth.
  • A track record of driving meaningful outcomes, leading through change and delivering continuous improvement.
  • A mindset that embraces AI and new tools to adapt, learn and grow.
