A Brief Overview
Director, Total Rewards has a significant role in the development and implementation of compensation and benefit programs in the region. Responsible for providing leadership in salary planning, bonuses, job evaluations and also overseeing group benefits, retirement plans, and wellness programs. Provides expert guidance on Reward related matters to HR teams across the region and ensures local and regional initiatives align with Global philosophies and are compliant with Company policies and external regulations.
What you will do

  • Leads the review, development and implementation of salary, incentive, recognition, benefit and wellness programs to ensure overall market competitiveness within the region. Develops detailed analysis and recommends plan revisions as well as new plans which are consistent with total reward trends and company objectives.
  • Leads and/or works on a variety of global projects including market pricing and analysis, annual compensation processes, pay equity review, benefit and wellbeing reviews and other reward related initiatives. Acts as the coordinator and local expert to the HR teams in the region.
  • Ensures that initiatives in the region align with global objectives, governance strategy, and external regulations and that internal approval processes are followed.
  • Work closely with HR Business Partners to advise on all compensation matters within assigned client group. Ensures compliance with corporate compensation guidelines and plans. Coach leaders to support managers through compensation decisions.
  • Perform analysis of and monitors compensation, benefit and wellness programs to ensure RGA remains competitive and equitable. Develop policies, procedures and tools to manage the total rewards offering in the region. Participate and help develop HR communication plans related to compensation and benefit programs
  • Responsible for making sure varied country legislative reporting and compliance requirements are met e.g. pay equity compliance, deferred compensation obligations regulatory disclosures, etc.
  • Participate in and represent the region in global Reward projects and other global HR initiatives balancing the needs and benefits of Enterprise First approaches and region/local market requirements and preferences.
  • Act as the compensation analysis expert for the region providing analytical support and advice to the regional head of HR. Monitor data integrity of key data sets in core systems including Workday.
  • Develops and maintains good working relationships with external compensation and benefit consultants/vendors and internal legal counsel teams.

Qualifications

  • University degree in Human Resources or related field required
  • 10+ Years experience in HR analytics, compensation and benefits roles and/or equivalent combination required
  • Expert knowledge of compensation & benefits principles and current industry best practices. required
  • Extensive experience developing policies, programs related to compensation and benefits required
  • Demonstrated analytical, problem solving, critical thinking and decision-making skills. required
  • Innovative, strong project management and change management skills required
  • Demonstrated ability to build strong, trusting relationships with internal, external stakeholders required
  • Energetic, resilient, capable of managing multiple priorities in fast-paced environment. required
  • Ability to use good judgment and discretion with highly confidential and sensitive information required
  • Strong ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization and influence stakeholders. Strong analytical and communication skills (written and verbal) required
  • Various level of exposure to systems and technology required
