Develop and deliver employee communication strategies that promote HCF’s brand, people, leadership, products and services. Working closely with stakeholders across the business, the role helps connect employees to HCF’s purpose, values and 2030 strategic objectives, while providing trusted counsel on the effective use of internal communication channels and messaging. The role also manages delivering HCF’s social mission to build healthier communities, strengthening HCF’s reputation and social licence to operate.

As the Employee Communications Manager, you’ll be responsible for: 

  • Amplifying HCF’s corporate narrative in line with the 2030 Strategy and key business priorities.

  • Managing and implementing the employee communications strategy for all HCF employees across corporate and frontline, working in partnership with key stakeholders and senior leaders.

  • Coordinating and delivering organisation-wide communications through internal channels including quarterly Town Hall sessions and other enterprise-wide communication experiences.

  • Launching and implementing the Viva Engage social employee channel across HCF.

  • Developing simple video concepts, scripts and speaker notes for in-house smartphone filming and editing basic video content.

  • Responding at pace to emerging issues and crises, working to protect HCF's reputation.

  • Educating employees on important industry issues/topics and HCF’s stance. 

  • Exploring and implementing programs to build employee advocates across HCF.

  • Managing the employee communications calendar and ensuring an integrated approach that’s informed by internal key stakeholders.

  • Managing the delivery of organisation-wide employee engagement campaigns, working closely with internal stakeholders.

  • Leading the delivery of all employee communications across HCF’s Innovate Reconciliation Action Plan, as part of your role in the Steering Committee.

  • Leading the delivery of all employee communications and internal events around HCF’s social impact partnerships.

Works closely with: Office of the CEO, People & Culture, Brand & Content, Sustainability, Risk & Compliance, and Executive Leadership Team.

What we would love to see

  • Degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, or a related field and 8+ years experience in corporate communications. 

  • Proven experience in communications management, preferably within complex or highly regulated environments.

  • Agency experience desirable.

  • Ability to work at pace, in a fast-paced dynamic corporate environment and to manage competing projects and deliverables. 

  • Proactive – you are one step ahead and ready to go above and beyond to deliver for employees and HCF members.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Digitally savvy, with video shooting, editing and storytelling skills.

  • Strong interest and use of employee social media platforms and content management systems.

  • Creative thinking and problem-solving abilities.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
