About Us 🚀

At Relevance AI, we’re building the home of the AI workforce, a new generation of automation built for real work.

Our mission is simple: empower every team to delegate meaningful work to AI agents that think, act, and collaborate like experts. With Relevance AI, anyone can create and manage intelligent agents that handle workflows, decisions, and cross-team collaboration, all within one unified platform.

Today, our technology powers leading companies including Canva, Databricks, Confluent, Autodesk, Lightspeed, Rakuten, Aveva, Qualified, and Activision Blizzard, helping them scale excellence across operations, marketing, and sales.

We’re backed by world-class investors: Bessemer Venture Partners, Insight Partners, Peak XV, and King River Capital, and we raised our Series B in April 2025 to accelerate our mission and push the boundaries of agentic automation.

Headquartered in San Francisco and Sydney, and soon opening our new office in Barcelona, we operate on a hybrid model (three in-office days per week). We’re a high-momentum team that thrives on curiosity, collaboration, and execution. We move fast, think big, and win together.

This year, we were proud to be named LinkedIn’s #1 Startup in Australia.

If you’re excited to define how the world works with AI and want to build the technology powering the next generation of intelligent workforces, join us.

The Role 🥳

We’re looking for an Engineering Manager to lead our Chat Builders team- a fast-paced, highly technical group working on new, high-impact features that bring AI agents to life.

This is a hands-on leadership role, perfect for someone who loves being in the thick of product innovation. You’ll guide a team of junior and mid-level engineers, provide deep technical mentorship, and make architectural decisions that shape how builders use our platform.

You’ll report to the Head of Engineering and work closely with Product to drive rapid iteration, experimentation, and delivery.

Your Impact 💥

  • Lead and mentor a fast-moving team, helping junior and mid-level engineers grow through active coaching and technical guidance.

  • Be hands-on in technical execution: coding, reviewing, and setting architectural direction.

  • Drive delivery of new product features at speed, ensuring quality while enabling experimentation.

  • Foster strong engineering practices, balancing startup agility with scalable systems.

  • Collaborate closely with Product to align priorities and deliver impactful user experiences.

  • Shape the team culture, embedding clarity, ownership, and speed into everything you do.

What We’re Looking For 🧠

  • Strong technical depth in APIs, backend systems, and cloud infrastructure (AWS Node.js/Python; REST/GraphQL).

  • Hands-on engineering leadership - you thrive on building alongside your team.

  • Experience mentoring engineers, especially in fast-paced, iterative product teams.

  • 3+ years of people management experience, or a senior/staff/principal engineer ready to step into their first leadership role.

  • Proven delivery track record in startup or scale-up environments.

  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to bring clarity in high-speed environments.

  • Bonus: Experience with AI/ML or workflow automation products.

Benefits💥

  • 📈 ESOP – Employee Stock Ownership Plan so you can grow with the company

  • 🤖 AI Productivity Benefit – Get up to $1200 USD/year to spend on AI tools, courses, and learning resources that help you work smarter and grow your skills

  • 👶 Parental Leave – 12 weeks of paid parental leave for all eligible new parents, plus an additional 6 weeks for the birthing parent

  • 🍱 Team Meals & Snacks – Enjoy free breakfasts, healthy snacks, and a variety of team lunches throughout the week (including Thursday and Friday lunches, plus Uber Eats dinners and regular catered office meals)

  • 🪩 Quarterly Team Events – Build stronger connections through fun, meaningful team bonding experiences every quarter

  • 🏓Social Clubs – Share your hobbies and interests by joining or starting a club with your teammates. From hiking and chess to board game nights and social committee activities - there’s something for everyone!

  • 🌐 Community Events – As the home of the AI workforce, we regularly host events featuring thought leaders, industry partners, and the wider community.

  • 🧠 Sonder EAP – Access 24/7 mental health and wellbeing support through Sonder, our Employee Assistance Program
