Join Our Team as an Entry Category Buyer - Menswear 

Are you passionate about menswear? Do you excel at spotting trends and driving category growth? We're seeking a dynamic and experienced Entry Category Buyer/Junior Buyer to elevate our menswear categories. This role is perfect for a junior buyer or an experienced assistant buyer ready to advance their career. 

As the Entry Category Buyer you will report to the Senior Category Buyer. You will support the department strategy, vision and budget planning. You will support the Category to achieve the sales growth within your category in alignment with THE ICONIC’s commercial strategy. This role is essential in driving the conception and development of all product in your allocated category by always driving innovation & creativity.

About the role:

  • You understand and drive company wide strategies and OKR’s. 
  • Conducting market research, you will stay up to date with latest trends and products in the e-commerce industry and make recommendations on product and/or brand selection for THE ICONIC.
  • You will monitor the inventory levels to maintain adequate stock levels.
  • You evaluate vendor performance and assist in the selection and deactivation and/or exit process.
  • You are able to negotiate favourable terms and conditions for contracts for both commission based (Platform) and OTB based (Wholesale) vendors whilst delivering the best customer facing assortment in the market.
  • You will ensure compliance with company policies and procedures and industry regulations.
  • Identify emerging trends and source new products that resonate with our customers.
  • Maintaining accurate records of vendor details including not limited to: Brand Plans, SKU lists, department brand profile matrix
  • Using clear customer focus you identify opportunities for improvements for the customer onsite experience.
  • You are able to analyse data, interpret trends and propose informed decisions based on data.
  • You have strong analytical skills enabling you to identify cost savings opportunities and propose effective procurement and platform strategies.
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with suppliers, you are able to work collaboratively with vendors to achieve mutual goals and foster long-term partnerships.
  • Liaising onboarding for vendors with internal teams and maintaining ongoing support.
  • You work collaboratively with agreed key brands on building assortment.
  • Managing inefficient and unproductive brands to propose informed strategies.
  • You have attention to detail, particularly with contract terms and conditions. You are able to read and understand complex contracts and ensure all terms and conditions are met.
  • You proactively collaborate with marketing to identify both GTM and promotional opportunities for your category to drive sales.
  • You develop and implement strategic road maps according to commercial strategies, brand adjacencies and customer segment demographics.
  • You develop relationships with internal key stakeholders such as Marketing, Vendor Management, Operations and Finance.
  • A clear and effective communicator in a concise manner.
  • You are able to provide guidance and mentoring to junior team members.
  • Adaptability to changes in the market and industry, being open to learning new skills and approaches.
  • You will undertake any other duties as reasonably required by management

About You...

  • Ideally you will have previous experience as a Junior Buyer or experienced Assistant Buyer working in high volume business
  • Strong negotiation and vendor management skills
  • Skilled in Excel reporting (including pivot tables and v-look ups)
  • Strong communication skills with a great eye for detail
  • Excellent time management skills
  • A strong team player who embodies our ICONIC Principles
