DNV has an exciting opportunity for a fixed term 1 year contract for an Employee Relations (ER) Advisor to supports the local organisation of DNV with a range of advisory activities with key focus on employment related matters. This will involve working with senior management to support the organisation and its employees as well as training local resources. A great role for an ER Advisor who enjoys working in a dynamic and growing global organisation, DNV in Australia has around 190 staff and is on a growth trajectory, both organically and through acquisitions. DNV ANZ has its main offices in North Sydney, Melbourne and Perth. This position reports into the Sydney based GSS HR manager and is part of the regional team in Global Shared Services based in Singapore HR. As we do believe in flexibility, we offer hybrid working with an anticipated 3 days per week in the North Sydney office.
Job responsibilities:
- Award classification
- Identify applicable awards for the organisation
- Identify level within awards
- Undertake total remuneration review aligned to identified awards
- Deep dive for DNV and its policies on how awards impact our everyday operation
- Review of current policies
- Positive duty to prevent workplace sexual harassment
- Identify any potential gaps, propose any actions if needed to meet legislative requirements
- Subcontractor vs employee review
- Summarise the current legislation and inform key stakeholders (min. BA managers)
- Right to disconnect
- Summarise the current legislation and inform key stakeholders (min. BA managers)
- Psychosocial hazards (depending on timing)
- Prepare some basic training for line managers
- Assist in identifying hazards
- Assist in proposing mitigative actions as per identified hazards
- Positive duty to prevent workplace sexual harassment
- Preparing consultation for ER related matters.
- Support in establishing PAG NZ (Personnel Administrative guidelines for NZ)
- Support in maintaning Australian PAG.
- Support in M&A processes and advising on possible ER implications.
- Additional Ad-hoc ER compliance deliverables.

Position Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in HR / similar discipline
- Minimum 5 years of experience in HR Advisor/ Senior HR Advisor role with strong focus on Employee relations (ER)
- Confidence and in-depth knowledge of Fair Work, key awards (predominantly Professional and Clerks Award) and most recent legislation
- Sound knowledge of NZ legislation of advantage
- Confidence to part train local team member
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Customer focused and service minded
- Able to juggle multiple priorities and competing deadlines
- Eligibility to work in Australia (PR or citizenship)
